Semi-related: Is Saints Row worth getting, since I can probably get it on the cheap somewhere used.

Yeah, something of this scale is very difficult to test, just because it's so damn big.

Unfortunately it isn't as easy as changing a single line of code or a single variable as even both these things which are minor in themselves may have a huge impact on other parts of the game.

And fixing some of the bugs would cause so much code churn that they would have to re-test the whole thing which can be incredibly time consuming.

Wow a glitch in a demo. This is now big deal. I loved the demo.

It may just be in the demo, something to do with the artificial boundaries they might have put in. You would think that something as common as the action that caused this glitch wouldn't be evident in the full game.

Really fun demo, glitches sometimes make these games more interesting a la Driver back on ps1

Me and my friend noticed a glitch as well not one like that. We of course had private voice chat going well on Co-op it would say that the other person lost their internet connection (we traded off being the host) and that the game would exit. Each time it was exactly 22 minutes in. Of course neither one of us lost the connection as we could still voice chat. I hope these issues are fixed before it comes out or hopefully there is an upadte for it when it comes out to fix the issues.

A demo and a full game will diverge at some point. Fixes will go into the game that may not make it into the demo, as the demo's goal is to quickly be completed and get out of the way of real development.

On the plus side if you decide not to buy the full game because of a bug in the demo it should mean you have slightly improved my odds of getting the game.

Yeah, I am sure it has more to do with them branching off to a demo, and the artificial boundaries than not testing the full version. The demo is kick butt.

Arno: Saint's Row is worth it, IMO, if you can find it for $30 or so. That's post patch, of course. (The multi was totally broken as shipped, the SP is fairly entertaining in spite of its self)

loved the demo for the game. extremely happy that I pre-ordered it prior to the demo coming out seeing as i've heard that pre-order's are hard to come by following yesterday.

i love co-op and as far as #12, why private chat and not just in game chat? my house-mate and i used in game chat and everything worked fine...

I was playing coop last night too with a friend and it never dropped us...but I did see my share of bugs. One of the strangest was after we died in the game we would start but be stuck under something. Eventually we would get unstuck and it would work so it wasn't a huge deal but a pain for the 30 seconds of waiting. Even though there are bugs the demo is a blast and I can't wait to play some more tonight!

I loved the demo- you have to give it a couple minutes to figure out what's going on. Once I realized how the levels and skills worked, I was hooked. Neat stuff, and I didn't see any glitches (although a couple to be expected wonky camera moments).

And @ earlier poster: yeah, Saints Row is awesome. Imagine GTA with decent aim.

Yikes. Now, THAT is what I call draw distance...

For the Saint's Row question, Saint's Row is a unrepentant GTA clone with a few better features and a unique ability to make walking around without a car not the end of the world, like GTA does. On foot, you can be just as dangerous as in a vehicle, and Xbox Live games really illustrate that.

It was a pain to get a co-op game going with a friend but once we were in it, everything was golden.

The demo is a lot of fun and bodes well for the final game. I can see it struggling (unfairly, I might add) under the shadow of not only GTA but also the ridiculous Halo 3 beta promotion. I hope Crackdown succeeds and kicks off a whole new franchise.

Yeah, it did take a long time to download, is this the biggest demo to date? I can't remember.

Anyways, after a few minutes getting used to how things work, it's ridiculously fun, this game is gonna rock.

I would like though for the option to dis-arm, unequip guns and use only melee.
Maybe grab somebody that's alive after unarming them and hurl them as you do with objects.

Preording now, and not for the H3B.

How can you get a Co-op game started over live. When I host a game I can't invite a friend in and he can't invite himself in. It seems to be only random people who can join. Or else set it up in system-link mode. real bummer

In the Demo to Play Co Op with a friend you need to setup a custom game with random setting thats you and your friend know.

And start a game and then a minute or so after have your friend search for the game that you created. He should connect no problem.

Played Co -Op last night. Once I get some money together I will be paying off my copy.

I noticed a couple of glitches. First, was when I punched a bad guy into a piller. And do mean into. He was just firing at me until I could target his head that was sticking out. Second, was one of the bosses fell through the stairs and again, I had to shoot his head that was sticking out.

I just put in the game for the first time, and this glitch is all I can do. From the first time I spawn, I fall through the map into the ocean. I cannot seem to get out of it, not play the game at all. This is ridiculous.
