I cannot believe they are launching the PS3 in jEwUROPE without a soccet/football game...what are they thinking?? if they had a football(soccer) launch title the ps3 would sell out in every country

I enjoy my Nintendo Wii and I'm also looking forward to what it will have in store in the future. Right now, the PS3 just isn't doing anything for me that the 360 can do as well. The $500-600 price tag here is already high enough for me and although the pound trades at a higher exchange rate as does the euro, the price is still pretty high from my perspective.

Although I do not own a 360 or PS3, if I was to choose between the two I would go for the 360 personally. I still think the PS3 is a great work of technology, but it feels like it is up against some tough competition between the 360 which seems more than capable of doing the PS3 can do graphically thus far, and the Wii, which is the most affordable and seems the most fun to me.

425 British Pounds comes to $984.56 Canadian or $835.91 U.S. For the rest of Europe that means 644 Euros and even at that it's STILL $834 U.S.
Good fucking luck Sony.

I wonder if ebay.co.uk will clamp down on PS3 auctions... or will there even be enough demand in the UK to shift all 300,000 units we're supposedly being allocated... Or is this another Sony pile of BS about '1 million units for Europe' and we'll really get about a five!

Not that I'm thinking of ordering one, of course...

I definiteyl getting a PS3 because all the games i like are coming out exclusively for it, MGS, Tekken, Final Fantasy. I probably will also get a PSP once crisis core comes out aswell and i bought a DS to play ff3 remake aswell. I suppose whichever console you choose it doesn't matter so long as you enjoy the games, I know because although i bought and enjoy ff3, nothing else interests me on the DS.

£425! Lolz
I know so many people who bought PS2s because at the time they were cheaper than Xboxs. They like their PS2s but people over here are price conscious. A lower price and better back catalogue will easily beat the PSX effect.

I won't be buying that and nor will most gamers. The only people who will are the same ones who would have had Laser Discs and NeoGeos back in the day as opposed to the regular kids who had SNESs and MegaDrives.
An expensive toy which will go down in history as an overpriced flop. Way to kill a franchise Sony.

@ maverick_saturn_626

What lot are you talking about asshole, a parking lot? Eather learn to type readable English or shut the fuck up. You would think with that talk you were raised in a "American" School System.

Seriously, Fuck Off. I rather pay higher prices over here than spend time with your patriots, your horrible riots, chavs, crime rates, teeth, and other such "wonderfull" things about the UK.

Point Here: US is crap, UK is crap. Its called life. Life = Crap. No matter were you live = Crap. Do not pick on other countries and they will not pick on you, k? ;)

The UK price probably includes 17.5% VAT (sales tax), so it's not all Sony's fault it's so expensive.

"What lot are you talking about asshole, a parking lot? Eather learn to type readable English or shut the fuck up. You would think with that talk you were raised in a "American" School System."

see, it's one thing to be loud and rude. it's another thing all together to be loud, rude and WRONG. you're an idiot with what seems to be a very limited vocabulary. 'lot' as maverick is using it is perfectly ok. the word has multiple meanings, and in the context of maverick's post, it referrers to a collective group of people.
(see: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=lot def.12) if you had bothered to check instead of letting your idiot mouth-words escape from your face, you'd have known that. oh and by the way, don't bother trying to tell me about shitty American education, i had the worse there was: d.c. public schools.

"60. see, it's one thing to be loud and rude. it's another thing all together to be loud, rude and WRONG. you're an idiot with what seems to be a very limited vocabulary. Of course it's technically correct, and Sidepocket is probably well aware of that fact. But because the word crammed into maverick's speech at nearly every opportunity, it just gets irritating. Look at maverick's post again, with the "lot"s emphasized:

"21. Didn't I say you American's complain over nothing, everything thats expensive to you *LOT* is dirt cheap to us, and what is expensive over here you *LOT* will never be able to afford if you are complaining about a console that is the equivalent of Xbox or Wii's price over here. Unlucky you *LOT*, I can see a *LOT* of Europeans importing thier PS3's from you *LOT*, you don't want it, we'll have it."

I know the second to last one is the more conventional use of the word, but the point is that if you use a word too often, it gets annoying. Honestly, his post reads like a stereotype, so I'm not surprised that it was received as such.
