I think that this game and most other third party games for the Wii are showing us just how difficult it is to program for use of the Wii controller at this point in time. Clearly what is happening is that developers are putting out ports of existing games and adding Wii controls to help get a feel of how the Wii controller works and how people respond to it. Even on games developed specifically for the Wii, it appears that developers are concentrating more on the controls than they are on graphics and polishing the games. I think it's obvious that right now developers are trying to get a hold on how to use the controller more than anything.

Once developers figure the Wii controls out, then we will start seeing more polished graphics, more precise controls, better control schemes. Developers will then have time to polish other aspects of their games instead of just giving us ports with added controls.

^^^^^ and of course publishers and developers see this a good cost efficient way to test the waters.

There have definitely been third party titles that have nailed the controls. Play elebits or Trauma center or Rayman.

That being said, PoP was an ok game to begin with, and this video makes it seem like up and down are the only functions of the wiimote/nunchuk. In the part of the movie where he is attacking the enemies, he swings the nunchuk to swing the chain, then swings the remote to do...the same thing?

i don't think that this wiimote is meant for all gmaes. you're better off sticking to the conventional controllers if you want to play Prince of Persia.

No matter how polished the graphics get, they're only going to be upgraded Cube graphics. Don't deny the truth. If Wii had graphical potential, we would've seen it by now. Just like how we Saw 360 had Graphical Potential with PGR 3, and PS3 has Potential in Resistance. Wii? Nothin'.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about this. It could be fun but it does look kinda slapped on.

Who's tried the controls for this game? No one, why are you commenting on how bad they'll be then?

You either learn button combinations or wiimote movements...no real difference is there.

I had a great time playing this on PS2 but I see no reason to buy it again just for some confusing new controls. They're mostly using flails of the nunchuk and remote to replace the button presses but also adding in the buttons. None of it really seems based on the on screen actions.

Been trying to figuree out why the Wii keeps getting these ports. And in all honesty, it wouldn't bother me that the Wii got a port of Prince Of Persia, but the lack of new features really makes it not worth bothering with. When the PSP version gets extras and the Wii version doesn't, that just tells me that Ubisoft is only after a quick buck.
