Anywhos, this is awesome news. I can't wait.

Too bad I figured out how to get my wiimote working with my pc console emulators :(
Fred T @ Jan 26th 2007 11:21AM
Umm .. i have the OoT cartridge sitting in my closet and the rom on my PC.. why would i pay $12 for this?
I aint gonna bend over for this.. no way.
Intentless @ Jan 26th 2007 11:22AM
If only I didn't have the other copies that were free/promotional or extra with other games/nintendo power... Oh well... Due to loyalty I shall just have to get another copy...
Pyronite @ Jan 26th 2007 11:22AM
I really, really wish Nintendo weren't charging so much for them.
Don't get me wrong, I understand it -- they're not HORRIBLE prices and they want to make a little change off of it, but these games (the non-Zelda, non-RPG/adventure ones in particular) have little in the way of gaming content to justify the price tags.
If they were even just a bit cheaper, you'd probably see a good bit more people buying just to check them out.
kelekod @ Jan 26th 2007 11:23AM
At least we get Mariokart on Monday.. and hopefully 3 other games will be there unlike last Monday.
How come they don't release a list like this for the US? Instead of signing onto the Shop channel every Monday, why not tell us what's gonna be on there and when? OoT 1200? Geez, I sure hope Mario 3 isn't that much..
At least I have the Gamecube disc (2 actually, the one with the 2 NES games and MM, and the one with Master Quest OoT on it w/ original) There's definitely no need to buy it for that much. I'm sure you can find one of those OoT discs at a gamestop for about the same price.
Darkness @ Jan 26th 2007 11:25AM
Cheap Genesis games? Oh man...that's gonna be good. I'll definitely be getting Streets of Rage and Sword of Vermillion for 600 each. I wasn't a fan of the original Legend of Oasis (Story of Thor), but would LOVE Legend of Oasis 2 to get released. Too bad that was a Saturn game. Heh, heh. Still, not a bad list.
I won't be picking up Ocarina of Time because I have many versions of that already for the Cube. Where's Shadows of the Empire or Rogue Squadron? Those are N64 games worth getting. :D
Liqwid @ Jan 26th 2007 11:25AM
wow... Japan... yay... How exactly is this useful to the US or EU or any other country, other than Japan?
I better get Vectorman in February, or there'll be hell to pay.
Vince @ Jan 26th 2007 11:25AM
Actually one of those OoT disks you were talking about are $34 at most EBs USED, and the cheapest you'll ever find it for is $29.99 at EB/GS.
Martin @ Jan 26th 2007 11:26AM
And I have the original Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past cartridge as well, but I still got that on the VC. There's just something so awesome about not having to have my SNES hooked up to the TV. Not to mention the Classic controller improves on everything the SNES did right, plus has analog sticks.
Shmil @ Jan 26th 2007 11:32AM
unless there's some magical way to use a n64 controller on this then i'm not that interested, the n64 controller may have been awkward and ugly as hell, but i still love it
Almack64 @ Jan 26th 2007 11:32AM
Hey all normal non-trolling commenters.
I want to offer a motion for everyone not to respond to Fred T or TRUTH anymore. They are not speaking to contribute and their opinions are mostly blind, foolish, pretty much BS. Their only purpose is to cause confusion.
All in favor in blacklisting talking to Fred T and TRUTH reply with a "I"

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Earthbound, and Paper Mario, please and thanks.
I think the VC is great- but I'll like it a lot more when it starts having games I don't already own.

The word is "Aye", and they can't be blacklisted for saying what they think (Even if they obviously have trouble doing it).

If you banned everyone who was annoying, trolling, misinformed, homophobic, racist, stupid, misogynistic, or xenophobic, the comments section would be just about empty, and there wouldn't be many bloggers, either. A retard rodeo needs its retards or it's just an empty grandstand.
The biggest problem with Fred T is that he's not all that good at trolling. You need to try easier, my man, just let the goodness roll off your tongue and ride the wave of annoyance all the way to the promised land. Whenever things aren't going your way, just change the subject or go ad hominem. You can do it, I know you can.
Almack64 @ Jan 26th 2007 11:47AM

I'm sure I'll buy OOT when it comes to the states though, because i am a consumer whore.

At least there adding different vc titles other than the you know whats.
lol is that a picture of in game footage of TLoZtlp? Looks like wii graphics.
Slaziman @ Jan 26th 2007 12:04PM
OoT? I got the ZeldaOoT+Master Quest cd that came bundled with The Wind Waker, so I'll pass ;P
Jonny @ Jan 26th 2007 12:09PM
Hey TRUTH and Fred T, why don't you go play Resistance online with forty people? Oh. Forty people don't own that game yet? Oh, I see. Well by all means troll away.
Fred T also made a comment that I find rather interesting. He said, "I ain't gonna bend over for this...no way." Now I understand that he won't "bend over" for an OoT download but he doesn't seem at all averse to the idea of "bending over" in and of itself. Out of curiosity, what would Fred T "bend over" for?
David @ Jan 26th 2007 12:10PM
Wow... what a ripoff, just find a WW preorder disc and play the game plus the expansion pack.
lebowsky @ Jan 26th 2007 12:13PM
As far as the 1200 point price for OoT in Japan, remember that LttP was 900 points in Japan and came out at 800 points in the US. OoT could easily be 1000 points when it hits our shores.
LuigiHann @ Jan 26th 2007 12:14PM
I have both Gamecube versions of OoT, but I may buy this one anyway, based on how nice Mario 64 looks and plays on the Wii, and for the sake of not using a GC memory card, among other things.
Martez @ Jan 26th 2007 12:14PM
Truth gets a tip of the hat (calling OoT 'Wii graphics') and a wag of the finger (who the hell abbreviates "Twilight Princess" TLP?)
Dude Love @ Jan 26th 2007 12:22PM
1200 for OoT? Sickens me. Sorry, that's just annoying considering how many times they've given it away.
Oh well, at least we get Mario Kart 64 on Monday. :) I'm excited for that!
Fhaze @ Jan 26th 2007 12:22PM
Since I missed Ocarina of Time the first time, that one might be cool to play. However for the most part, on XBLA/Virtual Console/PS Store I just don't care about old games. Instead of paying $30.00 for a greatest hits collection they will charge you $5-20 each and add nothing to them. All the major 3 consoles are guilty of this, although I guess Microsoft adds a tiny bit to their releases, (online multiplayer).
Now if they farmed out games to companies and had them revamp the graphics, yes I would be first in line for most of them. I am not talking about the pathetic double dragon graphical upgrade. I want the graphics redone from the ground up. Super Mario All Stars was a perfect example back in the day.
Its good to see that so many games are being released for the virtual console. I'm just saying I would pay double the price if they included a re-done version, instead of passing on almost all the Virtual Console/XBLA games as it is.
Thats just me though
Dracula Jones @ Jan 26th 2007 12:31PM
I'm happy this game is being released, but I don't like the precedent of charging more for a VC release based on how much people want it or for its perceived quality. There is nothing that warrants OoT costing $2 more and it's just going to lead to more and more games breaking the established price structure. It might have been a different case if there were more N64 games available, but if half of them cost 1200 points (the other half being Mario 64), then maybe we have to expect half of all future releases to continue this trend. Oh well, I guess.
Stu L Tissimus @ Jan 26th 2007 12:32PM
I'm a Nintendo fanboy, and I've already downloaded Gunstar Heroes, LttP and Sonic the Hedgehog off VC. Now what I want to know is, why isn't anybody up in arms over the fact that this game is over 1000 points? Nintendo is testing the waters. They're trying to see if they can charge even more than they are right now. Damnit.
FinalBoss @ Jan 26th 2007 12:41PM
OoT will not cost 1200 points on the US Virtual Console, I'll put money on that. They've re-released it too many times over here.
generaldane @ Jan 26th 2007 12:51PM
thats strange did oot looked that good on my n64
oh well this i will get when i have a wii as my cousin break my original ocarina of time cart and i dont like pc roms i tried to play it on pc but it just wasnt the same something was strangely off i just cant put my finger on it
Borat @ Jan 26th 2007 1:00PM
Guys, please please please don't download OoT for that price! That will send a message to Nintendo that we are not willing to pay such a high price for a nearly 10 year old game.
I don't get it...why are they blowing their Zelda load so quickly? Zelda: TP and Zelda 1 got released together, then Zelda III and OoT is also arriving quickly. Nintendo has so many other franchises...why not bring those first?
BPM @ Jan 26th 2007 1:03PM
Darkness (#8), all Genesis/Mega Drive games cost 600 on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel. Why do we pay more? Who knows...
As already mentioned, this probably won't transfer to the other Wii Shop Channels. As ALttP hasn't exceeded 800 Points (like it did for Japan), OoT is likely to remain the standard price, too.
Miniboss @ Jan 26th 2007 1:08PM
More than likely, OOT will not release in the US for more than $10. ALTTP was released on the VC in Japan for 900 points, but we still got it for 800. Clearly, the American branch of Nintendo knows that there would probably be an uproar if the prices were hiked for big games like that.
Virtua Fanboy @ Jan 26th 2007 1:09PM
5. If only I didn't have the other copies that were free/promotional or extra with other games/nintendo power... Oh well... Due to loyalty I shall just have to get another copy...

Wow, you probably mean spend your parents money. I don't know to many people that work for their own money, and pay the rent that would do something like that.
To each their own I guess. (Shrugs shoulders.) LOL
Neebs @ Jan 26th 2007 1:10PM
I already have the WW GCN disc, heh.
YoYoBoY @ Jan 26th 2007 1:11PM
Even at 1200, it's still cheaper than the disc or cartridge. Plus, ALTTP was 900 in Japan but only 800 here :D
kelekod @ Jan 26th 2007 1:13PM
@ 38, Borat
"I don't get it...why are they blowing their Zelda load so quickly? Zelda: TP and Zelda 1 got released together, then Zelda III and OoT is also arriving quickly. Nintendo has so many other franchises...why not bring those first?"
I'm taking the guess saying while the Zelda TP is getting full attention, they want people to see the original Zelda titles. Which means once Metriod takes off, I'm assuming we'll see the original and Super Metriod (wish it'd be sooner than later). Although it does seem striking that Mariokart 64 came so soon. Maybe the SNES mariokart is being held hostage for Mariokart Wii?
Jake @ Jan 26th 2007 1:14PM
At least the Wii will have its second playable single player game soon.
Copperteeth @ Jan 26th 2007 1:17PM
Why would anyone care about OOT? I mean who doesnt own it alredy on the N64? For the people who dont i suppose its good news but otherwise...
AirIntake @ Jan 26th 2007 1:18PM
Fred T is right, $12 is too much to spend on an old game if you already own it for the original system. The only games that old that I'd only pay that much for are Wing Commander 3 or 4 or MechWarrior 2. But that will never happen in a million years, so...
NintendoFanbot @ Jan 26th 2007 1:25PM
@ Copperteeth
Well, the N64 sold about 32 million units. Ocarina of Time sold around 8 million units.
So not everyone's played the game. :P
It might very well be possible that there are 3.5 million hardcore Nintendo fans that bought a Wii and have also played Ocarina of Time, but I find that a little improbable as well.
And $12 is a huge drop from its original price ($70). :P
Anyways, seriously, I heard that Nintendo reformatted the game to appear better in 480p. I don't know if it's true or not, but if so maybe that has to do with the slight price increase.
airpolgas @ Jan 26th 2007 1:30PM
I am holding off on the purchase of LTTP (and OOT when this comes out here in the US), even though I will probably end up purchasing all the Zelda games they bring out. I missed out on the Collector's Edition disc, and I refuse to pay over $50 for that. Because of this fact, I will complete my Zelda set on the Wii, just for the convenience that everything is in one place, and there's no need to bring back out the old stuff from the storage area.
Once we get a house, the consoles might have their space on the family room, but for now, they show up on a need to play basis.
Shore @ Jan 26th 2007 1:50PM
Is there any known way to access the Japanese site from U.S. Wii's? I only got the system for the VC, and I would love to play the original Megami Tensei, even with my little-to-non-existent knowledge of Japanese.
