lol, Just change the name from Ghostbusters to The Ghostcatchers. The car in the game isn't the same as the station wagon that they used in the movie, so I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't get into much trouble if Zootfly just altered names and changed logos.

I think the conversation between them went like this:

Sony: I hear you making a game that infringes on our IP, well not our original IP but one we aquired from buying a movie studio.

Zoomfly: yes we hoped to pay you for the IP.

Sony: Ah yes money, our favorite subject.

Sony: How about we'll give you the IP if you make this game a PS3 exculsive, after all we just lanuched the PS3 and we have what one game people want to play.

ZoomFly: well he's the thing sony, your SDK cost over $300k and since you havent said anything to us about using the IP, we went on and made this game using standard window dev tools, you know like visual studio.

Sony: Visual Studio! thats the devil...

Zoomfly: well we hoped to get your IP sign off and bring this game to the Xbox 360 and PC since we'll already made all the art work and design code, so all we really have to do would be to export to x86 or export to Xbox 360 and the game is done, then we can rework the game code to work on your great Cell processor.

Sony: How long will that take?

Zoomfly: Oh about another two years..

Sony: Sony no likely, sorry mr.zoomfly we can't do business, we need games like yesterday.

Zoomfly: ok thanks for nothing Sony, well just distrubt the video on youtube and get the buzz going then you be back and we tell you no and release it as a 360 excuslive to the 10 million and growing install base for a much better profit.

Sony's days of 3rd party support are numbered, first the big studios are backing away, now the little ones are.

The sad part about this is Sony is gonna keep this exclusive to the PS3 (if it ever gets developed). What a turd of a machine. I hope MS buys Sony those pricks.

Well As much as people are hating on Sony wanting this game not on the 360. They own the series and so why would they want some thng they own not on there system. Look at MS what if say Insomniac Games made a Halo game for the PS3. Bungie and MS would make sure that game does not come out. So in all truth Sony does have the right. I know this may not be what people want but I do not see this game being canceled but becoming a PS3 only game.

So I hope Zootfly and Sony can make a deal soon so this game will still come out.

Frankly Zoomfly were rather idiotic to spend time on creating a game based on an IP they hadn't secured the rights for.... that or it was just one big PR stunt by Zoomfly to get media attention.

I was just about to chime in with what Kev just said. They must have spent a ton of money working on that thing, they never once thought to themselves..."gee, what if we don't get the rights to use this ?!" I'm sure the banks and others that loaned them the money for this must have asked the same exact question. Lol

I get a feeling this might never see the light of day and Zoomfly will just go belly up... :|
