Sorry, Eric. Still not buying it. You refuse to mention what store you work at because of "confidentiality reasoning" but that's just a cover. I've yet to see someone online who's not allowed to say "I live in...." because of their job. So once again, what are you afraid of hiding? That a couple phone calls to local businesses is going to call your bullshit?

Like how first it was 20 360s moved. Then it was 30-35 due to Lost Planet. Now it's an undisclosed amount but due largely to a wide variety of games and first time gamers? Keep your story consistant, at least.

But then, when offered the PS3, you complain about saving $400+ but needing to spend $20 on a cable? How's that $50 a year for online multiplayer treating you? Or the $12 for batteries that don't suck... PER CONTROLLER? Nope, Sony is obviously the only one charging above and beyond the initial cost. Bad Sony! *smacks hand*

And then you say Heavenly Sword isn't worth $600, FUCK MAN, YOU ONLY HAD TO PAY $100!

Incidently, Heavenly Sword is June. It was March 6th but their adding content right now rather than ship the game as is. Ni-Oh is Fall.

And dude, don't assume DMC4 is coming because Lost Planet and Dead Rising did. DMC is instant success in Japan, and that's where they expect to make the most money since DMC3 barely swung past the GH requirement in the US. Ninja Gaiden as well, had issues becoming a million seller on the Xbox. Hopefully that will change on the 360 (personally, I feel when a developer turns around and designs a game to be hard just for the sake of being hard, it shows a blatant disrespect for the bread and butter of the gaming industry at large. Many casual gamers I know borrowed my copy of Ninja Gaiden, got frustrated with the first boss, and decided not to buy it after all) but I don't see the Japanese games performing well on 360, do you? Sure, there's Lost Planet and Dead Rising, but tell me these FEEL like Japanese games. It's Capcom trying to be a Western Developer and that's where their appeal to the 360 audience comes in. And outside of when Capcom is playing "I'm going to be a master of disguise," what love have they thrown 360, exactly?

PS3 has more pull for the more Japanese titles in Capcom's arsenal. Whether or not DMC4 comes out on 360 will depend entirely upon whether or not 360 can turn around their Japanese trend, and whether or not Capcom really sees the money in the shift.

I'm not saying it's all roses for PS3, but I am saying you're full of shit and the fact that someone like you, with such and incredibly limited knowledge base of the PS3, is in a position to talk people in or out of consoles quite frankly sickens me.

Still all true, sorry. My company has a policy on internet dissemenation and I've seen people termed for it, so it's not worth the risk to convince you I'm telling the truth that way. The 30 or so units I mentioned was from the launch of LP, when I mentioned 20 or so it was during my inventory period - you should read more carefully.
How's my $50 online service? Awesome thanks, finished Gears on insane with a buddy co-op. The system is so fully integrated and feature rich that I never even think about the $50. How's voice chat in COD3? How about cross game communication? Enjoying TH Project 8 online? Oh, you got what you paid for. Taking a shot an XB Live in inane. How's my $12 battery? About the same as the $10 usb cable to charge the sixaxis that didn't come with the system. At least it came with component cables. Oh, wait, never mind.
Is Heavenly Sword officially June? Really? Hope the show something soon, since it hasn't surfaced since E3 8 months ago. I guess we'll see in another 5 months.
If DMC3 struggles to reach GH status here, wouldn't a multiplatform release increase sales? Especially on a platform that was a larger install base? The response to Dead Rising and Lost Planet was way to good to be ignored (LP is very Japanese by the way, and very Capcom, from the anime vibe to the mechs). Anything could happen, but Capcom is selling more units on the 360 that they are on the PS3 that's for sure. Not to mention their successful xb live arcade titles (Street Fighter anyone?). How much money they can make is the deciding factor, thinking it's anything else is naive.
Notice that I don't resort to profanity or name calling - the system is simply not moving fast and I sat on 8 units for much longer than I would have believed, while the other two systems sold out in that same period. It is what it is. Don't forget that the backlash from 360 owners towards Sony is from Sony themselves dismissing the system, saying that it's the xb 1.5, nex gen gaming doesn't start until they say so, etc. Certainly doesn't appear to be so.
I recommend the 360 when asked because it is a better price point, has a vastly superior library and online service. The average consumer spending several hundred dollars on themselves or their kid wants content right now, and the 360 delivers that. Mind you, I also recommend it over the Wii for the same reason, but the Wii is such a lower price point and so unique that it's an easier pill to swallow to have to wait.
So, believe it. I didn't want that ps3 for $100. I wasn't going to use it, I wasn't going to resell it (it had no box, had been used etc). As a 360 owner (and a Wii owner, and a PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, Saturn, CD-i (yes i admit it), the ps3 offers me nothing I don't already have, and doesn't have some features I've come to expect. How am I supposed to play MLB 2k7 with a friend without rumble, by the way? Ask him to look away from the screen while I select my pitch? How about no force feedback steering wheel for GT5 (whenever that comes out)? I'll be playing MLB on XB Live with full online league support (check 2k's website, because NBA 2k7 doesn't have a ps3 tab there), and playing Forza with MS's excellent force feedback wheel (with a headphone jack, too). So, why don't you go watch the fake Killzone trailer and feel better about your $600 brick.
