NYC: Wanna play BioShock and get paid for it? [update 1]

[Update: 2K just let us know they've retracted the offer. We'll let you know if and when they reinstate it!]
What a ridiculous question. Of course you do. In fact, many gamers would be willing to play BioShock without any sort of compensation whatsoever, finding reward in the moist surroundings of an underwater city and the the thrill of encountering terrifying scuba-men. 2K Games has sent out the call for playtesters in New York City, luring them with promises of payment and the opportunity to refine System Shock's spiritual successor (of sorts).
If you can make it to SoHo and have 3 hours to spare each day from this Wednesday to Friday, answer the questionnaire (placed after the break) and send it to the indicated e-mail address. If chosen, you'll earn the princely sum of $10 per hour, along with nine wonderful (probably) hours with BioShock. The Xbox 360 game is currently slated for a June release.

Wtf is with the 360 questions? 2K can suck it if they're dropped the PC.

If I was ANYWHERE near NY I'd be all over this one.

I assume this opportunity is solely for 18+ year olds. Therefore, I hate 2K games. Oh why couldn't I just be 3 years older?

Presumably this test session is just testing for the X360 version, to keep things focused and simple. No indication whatsoever that the PC version has been dropped.

They're still going to release it for PC. They'd be crazy not to. The playtesting will likely be on the 360 only, hence the questions about the 360.

It is now "Bioshock" instead of BioShock. The 's' was turned to lower-case.

Why is World of Warcraft under XBox 360 RPGs? Hmmm...

It's being made for 360 1st and being ported to PC shortly after! I wonder what the questions are for 360 gamers and also wonder if both versions will be identical!
Shibathedog @ Jan 29th 2007 10:14PM
WTF! I dont even make 10 dollars an hour at my REAL JOB, and i can make 10 dollars an hour playing a VIDEOGAME!??! Goddamnit!
Its probably a bad idea to print this out and use it to persuade my boss to give me a raise right? ;)
Bill @ Jan 29th 2007 10:37PM

Biofreak @ Jan 29th 2007 10:39PM

EP Crusader @ Jan 29th 2007 11:12PM
I live about 15 minutes from the city. Too bad I have to work Wednesday otherwise I'd be waay more than happy to participate.

LOL, "RPG's such as Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts". Man, what a crock. Xbox 360 doesn't have games like that presently, neither of the genre, nor of the quality. Do you even think Lost Odyssey will be Kingdom Hearts fun, Final Fantasy beautiful and Dragon Quest epic? In your dreams, pals.
