Pixies frontman Frank Black wails for GRAW 2
Frank Black is a rock icon. So when the Pixies frontman teams up with 3volution Productions* to record an exclusive cover of The Stooges' "Gimme Danger" for a new Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 trailer, it's reason to take notice. The song has been paired with nearly 90 seconds of GRAW 2 gameplay footage; a different direction from the one taken in the more stylized Gears of War "Mad World" ad. Still, the Black laced GRAW 2 teaser is worth a gander -- or at least a listen.*3volution Productions, created by Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera, specializes in producing audio tracks for games.

Uh... what was wrong with the original Stooges version? Why not use one of Frank's old songs instead? If they really wanted to capitalize on the buzz GoW advert they would have chosen "Where is My Mind" because that's the Pixies song everyone knows. Probably would have been cheaper, too.
The editing seems weird, like all they did was get a bunch of gameplay footage and then slap the song overtop.

man that is awesome, indeed.
I think it was well edited, climaxing at the end with the explosions and walking through the burned vehicles, killing red targets through the smoke.

Frank Black rules!

God, I hated the Gears of War ad. At least this one isn't pretentious. I'm happy to see recognizable musicians getting involved in stuff like this, mostly because I love a good trailer.

The only thing better than Frank Black is Frank Black x Iggy Pop.

Uh, he was Black Francis when he was front man for the pixies.
His band/solo artist name is now Frank Black. So he is the frontman for his own band now. I think he has over five albums released under Frank Black, the solo artist.

Yes, yes. For cripes sake please call the man by his real name: Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV
Honestly, show some frickin' respect.

That was almost as good as the original. I'm impressed.

lolz. They should have done the song to "Tony's Theme"

The song is amazing...This version kills the original song without a doubt. And the music production sounds
incredible! When and where can I get a copy? Is it going to be available on cd or as a download?

Wow, that was pretty cool... But i do kinda agree with the first post, the editing was a little off, kinda like a fan made video.

We are working with our distribution partners and the publishing rights holder to get this version of the song out for digital distribution at or around the time the game hits store shelves.
