Shadow of the Counter-Strike

We don't typically cover custom-made Counter-Strike maps, but this one is unique in its high level of detail and its tribute to one of our favorite games of the PlayStation 2's golden years. Meet de_wanda and its giant reference to Shadow of the Colossus.
Weighing in at 160 MB, this map is one you're going to have to require everyone to download in advance if you plan on playing online. The creator, Soenke C. "Warby" Seidel, has an impressive collection of artwork and maps, including some 3D Shadow of the Colossus-inspired scenes, if you would like to peruse the artist's portfolio.
Color us impressed. Very impressed.

I don't even like Counter-Strike, but I'll play just for this map alone.

Ah, Shadow of the Colossus. Such a subtle, beautiful game. Whatever the team behind this does next (on the PS3, I would presume) is a must-have as far as I'm concerned.

Damn. I'm downloading this map, even if I only get to play against bots.

Why the hell would anyone put that kind of graphical work into a multiplayer map? Careful level design, yes, balance, yes, but you never have time to look around at the scenery in multiplayer and well developed scenery most often means little time spent considering strategy or gameplay.
I realize that this isn't the first person to do it. That it's the rule, as opposed to the exception, even, but it's still a waste. I love to see this sort of thing in single player, but single player mods are much less common.

It's for CS:Source
It looks phenomenal with everything set to Max. Great looking map, but layout wise not so great.
I also didn't like the fact, you can't scale the Colossus to plant the bomb at his weak spot to bring down the beast. That would have been awesome, but you plant it at his feet...
