Thanks, Microsoft, for being so strict about the XBLA certs! If you weren't here to protect us, we'd be overwhelmed with a flood of titles to download and play over XBLA! No danger of that now. No, I can rest confidently knowing that yet again, nothing is out for XBLA.

"There's no way XBLA can compete with Nintendo's VA"

Does VA here stand for "Virginia" or "vagina"?

why is this such a big deal? spoiled ass bitches complaining that there's no game, but you complain about the game that's released when there is one! why do you bother gaming if you always complain about gaming?

JodyAnthony,
Sorry if I misread the purpose of your post. To me, Mario64 is the only VC game I'd buy and Doom is one of the last XBLA games I'd buy. So, it seemed like a pretty obvious jab.

I'm not trying to say the VC sucks or that Arcade rocks. I think everything on each service is overpriced, except a few Arcade gems. But, the free demos sure are nice.

"I also don't want to hear about you pirating games as a excuse. Anybody who pirates games is a low life son of a bitch gamer that doesn't deserve respect by any fellow gamer."

Wow, TwilightKnight, what bug went up your ass? Who gives a flying shit about "respect"? That's the most goddamned nerdy thing I think I've read for a while on here. WE're talking about value here. And the VC doesn't have it. Hence, play some ROMs on an emulator, and save your money, or just go and buy the actual old carts for less.

Now please forgive me as my gaming respect takes a hit while I play shit like "The Blues Brothers" and "Fester's Quest" on my PC.

You have to realize that hacking and pirating makes this world go round. All of the big name companys get their "greatest ideas" from hacks, Modders and pirates. If there wasn't a napster, their would be no itunes. If it wasn't for the emulation explosion in 1998-2001 on the PC, there would be no Virtual Console on the Wii. People were streaming music from their PCs to thier original Xboxs way before media connect on the Xbox 360.

Big companies take these mods or hacks "legitimize" them and call it an innovation, when it's not.

It's all been done before, and in some cases better. My old "FREE" SNES & Mame emulator offered multiplayer over the internet for it's games.

Why can't the VC do that!

Well, I've been wanting to buy Gripshift on the PS3 for a little while now. Guess I now have a reason. I find myself playing the PS3 more and more. Anyone else in the same boat? Ok, admittedly, I'm mostly playing PS2 games, but still.

The whole thing about the VC is, again, nostalgia. I can't even begin to enjoy games on my computer using ROMs. I tried playing through Chrono Trigger (which EVERYONE told me was amazing) and yet... I was bored to death with it! I just can't seem to enjoy it on my PC.

Now when it gets released on the VC, I'll surely pick it up and give it a shot again.

Also, for the argument that "You can pick up the cart for $3 anywhere" in regards to Sonic: the Hedgehog. Yes. That's true. But have you searched the internet to find how much Mario Kart 64 is? Here's a link for you:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=unknown&sbrftog=1&from=R10&satitle=Mario+Kart+64&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=

That's Mario Kart 64... $10 on the VC. There's no "Buy now" price less than, or close to $10.

Same with: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&from=R10&satitle=Zelda%3A+A+link+to+the+past&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=

So I think it's a deal to enjoy it on my 50" TV, and not having to pay as much for the original cart if I don't want it.

Also, I realize I could hook my PC up to my TV. Duh, I work IT for my company. But why would I want to lug my computer all the way downstairs to play a game I can just download on the Wii for a few bucks, and play it almost identical to how it was when it was in cart form? No lag, no savestates, no "turbo" button (God, that button was used way too much in RPG games... took away from the experience).

Again, I'm not saying XBLA is crap... I (notice that I said "I" and not everyone else) just don't see anything purchase worthy. Might be different for some... and that's fine.
