Vice City Stories PS2 port plugged, then pulled from PlayStation.com
A PlayStation 2 listing for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories briefly appeared, and then disappeared on PlayStation.com, mimicking happenings on the ESRB website last week (VCS is no longer listed there either). As to be expected, Rockstar remains coy, having neither reiterated nor reversed its previous claim that the PSP exclusive would not be ported to PS2. Eurogamer supposes that there are still some financial issues to work out, namely retail price, before Rockstar and Take-Two go public with the port.On the flip side, the VCS port could also be in the process of getting canned. Letting fans starve a little will help build anticipation for GTA IV -- not that it's needed. Pulling the plug on the port would more likely signal that Rockstar is concerned about diluting its key franchise.

I really hope this makes it to the PS2. Liberty City stories was only $13 at Best Buy the week it game out. Definitely worth the money.

Isn't it a little late for that? Since GTA3, we've had how many games? In what time span?
Seems to me there's another GTA coming out every time I turn around.

Yeah, come on. It's not like someone who was going to buy GTA4 is now going to turn around and say 'you know what... forget it - I'm not buying it because now I have VCS for the PS2'.
I for one hope they do the port. Contrary to popular belief there are still people who don't own PSPs.

@2. I agree, and rockstar really needs to start ramping up what it can do for the next gen. I will not buy the same damn game again. Its always the same game... :(

didnt they promise not to do this again? must piss off psp/ps2 owners to see they could've played the same game on a tv (and usually cheaper too)

thrillho i couldn't agree more.

Why not release it on the Playstation online store? It might move a few units due to the large GTA fanbase.

I think Rockstar needs to focus less on crappy ports, and more on doing what made GTA3 great. Come up with some NEW things for GTA4. My god, Saints Row was a better game than any of the recent iterations of GTA, and that game was a buggy piece of crap.
Raise your game, rockstar. Please.

To keep their promise, they can at least release it as a download on ps3 (like agent moo suggested), then it's not ported to ps2 as promised. The end result is money first, promises to fans second. im sure vice, liberty, and all their 'stories' will be out for wii this year too, to get all available fanboy monies. Rockstar should just move on to other games already, they're killing their own franchise.
