Wii mod moves those Gamecube ports to the front
Those of you with cramped entertainment centers have no doubt been bothered by the Wii's inconvenient placement of the GameCube ports when you just need to use a wired gamepad. Cheap Ass Gamer hollowfreak's handy mod transplants those errant GameCube ports from the side to the front of the Wii. His hack uses some of that cubic volume Nintendo so thoughtlessly left out, creating a completely detachable unit that leaves no unsightly blemishes on your pristine Wii. And Gamecube afficionados, there's another benefit to this mod: it closer resembles the dimensions of the beloved 'Cube. Now you're playing with power!

Not bad there, wouldn't mind having that lil' mod when Super Smash Bro. Brawl comes out.
Thought, it can be a little slimmer, but its nice.

Please don't give the woefully ignorant section of gamers that call the Wii a Gamecube 1.5 - they don't need more encouragement.

What a chore, yuck who want wires?
Getting 4 Wavebird Controls would do the same thing (minus rumble).
I give it an "A" for effort
But a "C" for being practical

Well, it seems practical if someone already owns 4 Gamecube controllers :)
This seems to be one of the better mods I've seen lately. Looks clean too.
I believe the Virtual Console controller gets it's wireless abilities by connecting to a normal Wiimote. It would be nice if they would make a Gamecube controller adapter to hook into your Wiimote as well, so you can use those untethered, and also not have to open the side door on your Wii.

I'm starting to get famous.

Great mod.
now if only someone could come up with a way to get the GC expansion port on the wii, so I could use my gameboy player on it. That would be tight!

That's really nice, though I'd be interested to see what happens when you put wavebirds in it. I would imagine they would block the buttons and SD card slot or not fit at all.

This is kind of cool

Oh, but those Game cube games don't have online, why even bother?

This is the shitiest mod I have ever seen. Mods are supposed to be useful, this is useless. It makes the Wii look like two GameCubes but together, with this thing on the side. It's huge and ugly, and useless. Just buy 4 Wavebirds and the problem is solved.
mr mobius @ Jan 31st 2007 4:02PM
hmm
i prefer my wii vertical so not sure about looks
i guess it could be useful if you have an exttremely tight cabinet (which brings the question to how u'd fit the extra part in).
like the way he has it also with the blue lights

"when you just need to use a wired gamepad."
...or a wavebird, whick still kicks the crap out of the classic controller in pretty much every way.
