As if Nokia introducing a new generation of N-Gage products wasn't enough, Dell is supposedly interested in also partaking in the handheld gaming war. PCPlus notes that their recent acquisition of Alienware should be a sign of the company's growing interest in the gaming sector. However, due to Dell's strong partnerships with Microsoft and Intel, expect any potential gaming device from the company to more closely resemble an Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) than a PSP. However, considering PSP's strong non-gaming focus, a new gaming-oriented handheld from Dell will compete more against the PSP than Nintendo's dual-screened portable.[Via Joystiq]
