Rock the vote with legislative measures in 2007
Like a certain caffeinated beverage prepared from delicious roasted beans, video game legislation was hot in 2006. Whether it was hidden whoopie in your Grand Theft Auto or ambulance chasers run amok, last year saw more games hitting the halls of congress than ever before. To make sure you're prepared for this years gauntlet of gaming based initiatives, 2old2play has compiled a short list of measures currently being considered in a few scattered states. Measures range from wanting stricter ratings, all the way to fining a sales clerk up to $100 bucks should they not lecture you about the content of your violent video game. Yikes.
You can help out now by contributing to the list with the measures currently being proposed in your state. Regardless, be a real hardcore gamer and educate yourself on something that matters. The enemy patterns in Ikaruga will be will be there when you're done.

Can I vote to have the death of Puffy/P. Diddy/whatever?
'Cause that's a legislative procedure I could get behind.

Ahh Ikaruga... What a terribly hard ass game. I've spent hours upon hours getting my butt kicked in that game.

Ahhh... I voted, I didn't die. But Puffy didn't warn us about that huge in-between grey area where you might end up with W as president!

Ahh Politics... What a terribly hard ass game. I've spent hours upon hours getting my butt kicked in that game.

Haha, anything politics related (even about video games) bores me to death.
But thanks Jody. :P

This blog post shouldn't have been open for comments. The internet is filled with too many ignorant people.
By the way, hating Bush is just a fad. If your "political" related comment starts with a random unexplained hate or insult for Bush, you started off wrong and confirm your high intangable ignorance to everyone who views it.
Keep it on topic, nobody wants to hear your Hugo Chavez/Alec Baldwin inspired opinion on politics.

No one cares either.

I love political game threads. And I also love when a 10 or 14 year old kid talks about how Bush is the worst president ever. What does a 14 year old know about politics? Stick to kicking my ass at Madden and Street Fighter. Leave the politicing to those of use that pay taxes.

Let me reiterate what I have said before. Refusing to sell M rated games to minors should be as difficult as minors getting into an R rated movie. My opinion is not based on moral reasons but it is more of a selfish approach. You see I am tired of playing random matches late at night online and then hearing some kid play with us at 1:00 am on a school night. Like wtf?! Where are these kids parents? Don't they have school the next day? Who let's them play gears of War or Saints Row, especially when these kids' vocabulary obviously shows that they are not mature enough to play with these games to being with.
I am all for protected free speech but we are facing a nation with too many ignorant and lazy parents.

@6, heh, i agree that politics are boring, I really dont pay attention to them, I was just trying to be funny.
and before anyone attacks me about my lack of political opinion: I dont really care. Many people have said the same stuff to me in the past and frankly I am too busy focusing on my own life to care about politics.
DiRT @ Feb 1st 2007 2:40PM
I wish P. Diddy wouldn't vote.
SynikaL @ Feb 1st 2007 3:38PM
The Dubbya Bush hate isn't as much a 'fad' as it is a bandwagon. There's a difference.
I feel sorry for those that emphatically state their apathy towards politics. Obviously, that's your decision, but politics sits at the bedrock of western civilization. Politics is LIFE. To someone like me, you're just stating you don't give a fuck about life.
Whatever, not looking to make this a debate or anything.
Anyways, I'd get behind legislation to fine the idiots that keep selling M rated games to minors, as long as its implementation is logical.
These same people sell GTA to my lil' cousin during work hours, then flip Lieberman, Clinton and Thompson the bird when they get home, turn on the TV and watch C-SPAN or CNN.
