Could this just be the AU release dates, meaning in the NA sooner? That would make sense, would it not?

I don't care what anyone says...this game is going to be flat-out amazing. Every trailer/gameplay movie I've seen has gotten me pumped for this game. Looks like it could even surpass Star Wars: KOTOR, which I thought was one of the best games last generation, and one of the best games I had ever played....and I don't even like Star Wars.

I can't wait for this. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Bioware; Baldur's Gate 2 was flat out the best video game I've ever played in my entire life. Nothing has come close to that game since; I'm hoping Mass Effect might.

I don't think they'll release two first party games in the same month. I would say June or later.

According to IGN.com Mass Effect has been out in Europe since Jan 12th!

The game looks to be progressing well. Let's just hope they can bump up the framerate before release. The graphics is good but the framerate was choppy in a lot of the videos.

This awesome if it's true but I think Forza and Mass effect have to be spread out. They should oput one in may and the other in July so there isn't a "drought".

Mass Effect is the game I'm most excited for in 2007, including all platforms. Sure, I really am looking forward to Forza2 and I was very pumped for Gears when it emerged. But Mass Effect looks flat out amazing.

If the combat and conversation systems are a hit, this will be a Game of the Year candidate.

This spring/summer we will truly see the 360 mature as a platform. Man things are looking up for gaming in general on all platforms. The Wii is bringing in new gamers and succeeding. The PS3 is going to get it going hopefully. The 360 has a barrage of bomb-ass titles coming. Hopefully things can continue like this.

@ Shizzno

Yeah, but don't forget Bioshock hits in June. Mass Effect and Forza cater to very different types of gamers. I think it would be possible to put them both out in May without too much of a problem.

Yeah, I bought a 360 pretty much to play this game. No RPG will ever top Baldur's Gate 2 or Planescape: Torment in my heart, but I am hoping this will be not too far behind...

#7 is right. Even though I hate waiting, they need to spread them out for their own good.

There are a lot of games scheduled for right before summer/beginning of summer like Assasin's Creed, Bullet Witch, Army of Two, GRAW2, Mass Effect, Forza2, maybe another one or two. But there isn't a whole lot for release during summer. There are also around 30 games with a TBA 2007 release date. Some of those could come in the summer.

Jake,

You know, I don't normally bash any manufacturer, and I own consoles from Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, but looking at that list of 360 titles coming in the first half of this year, how can anyone not think Sony is in trouble?

#12: No doubt BG2 is the best game I ever played. I like RPGs of all types, JRPGs included. I've played every FF game and none have even come close to the greatness of Baldur's Gate II. That damn game has spoiled me; I'm always expecting equal excellence now, and I'm always disappointed.

Planescape was amazing as well.

#15 -

Replaying BG2 and the expansion is a yearly event for me. I always try different main characters or different custom parties (using the MP to SP savegame trick). Sometime I try to make it a challenge, but other times it's fun to power through it with an Uber-Party.

Try Paladin/Fighter, Cleric, Cleric, Sorceror, Sorceror, Rogue sometime :)

Yeah, because it's on the offical webpage doesn't mean it's going to come out then. It's an estimated date, it happens all the time and I dare say that release date has been up for a good while now. Probably outdated as hell as well.

12, 15, & 16:

Great to see the Shadows of Amn love. It's all about the infinity engine- it allowed every dungeion to look as interesting as an artist's painting, and not cave after cave of either green rock or green bricks in a somewhat boring layout (Oblivion, I'm looking in your direction)

Didn't hurt that the characters and the story were fantastic.

TheKing,

I don't think Sony is in that much trouble. But I do think that the 360 will have a hella lot more quality games to play for a minimum of 1.5 years. PS3 owners may have to worry about not having enough games to play until November, though. And that is a serious statement. I don't know what the hell I'd be playing if that was the only system I owned. At least it can play PS2 games.

But, with Nintendo spanking them in Japan and MS spanking them here, Sony better hope they crush in Europe. Definately a good time to be a 360 owner, that much I'm sure of.

Watched the trailers for this months ago and can't remember getting so excited about a game in a long time.

I loved the 1st KOTOR. Played it on an xbox with 4 housemates, we'd play 2 hours each and pass the pad round. Days sucked away just watching each other play and two of the guys weren't even 'gamers'!

Although we were all stundents and there was weed involved.

I hate RPG's. Straight up.. I watched this, and I just want to buy because finally someone can make a game that touches the surface what the graphics can look like for the 360.

Before a bunch of you diss me for not liking RPG's, just know that I am going to buy this.. and I might like the actual RP...
