This just in, HMV bitches at Sony because they can't sell their initial allotment. Wii60 movement collectively giggles and Fry's send a simple letter to HMVs corporate headquarters stating simply...

"The fuck is wrong with you?!? Did you NOT witness how well out bundles went over?"

both have long loadtimes

both are obsolete as gaming interfaces

both are high in price

both have build qoality issues

so why would a sane person take this offer

id go for a wii ds bundle extra controlers and loads of games

As much as I don't like bundles this is a smart idea. Laugh all you want I bet they sell out of those bundles in a day or two.

As long as they sell all those bundles before shipment #2 arrives, HMV wins.

I can't wait for the followup article:

"Retailer HMV tries to offload excess PS3 stock"

They don't sell when they are in stock, what makes them think they will sell when they're loaded up with an expensive paperweight?

I saw somewhere that the initial allotment for UK is 220 000 units. It will be more than enough.

@ #7...You should spend more time in school learning how to spell. Seriously, put the games away for a little bit and crack open a book.

If i would do this, i would at least negate the "Euro-premium," and sell it for the equivalent to $850, then you would have the Brits scrambling

(equivalent would be 433.5 GBP, or 654.5 Euros)

Pretty damn funny. When I read the headline, I thought HMV was bundling free PSP's in an attempt to move their PS3's out of inventory. That's pretty much how you would have to do it here in the States.

This is SOOO stupid. Any willing to spend £625 on video games, surely has a PSP by now. And two PSP games, do you get any PS3 games in the bundle???

at least with this bundle, consumers will be able to play an actual library of titles not available on other systems. something to do while PS3 exclusive games trickle out.

I work at an HMV store in South England and I can confirm this bundle exists but is not mandatory. It has merely been suggested on a store level to prioritise orders for people who take up the bundle. It's down to the manager....so yeah, there will be a priority issue and that sucks.. but it's retail. And CLASSIC HMV.

Trust me, i put up with and observe a lot worse every day.

See, now I wasn't really willing to pay £425 for a PS3 - or any other console for that matter!

But now that I can get one with a PSP + 2 games for only an extra £250, well it'd be stupid not to jump at the chance

*sarcasm*

God I hate HMV
