Spectral Force 3, have we seen this before?

Upon seeing this trailer for Spectral Force 3, we got a strong feeling of deja vu. We posted a trailer for a game called Diario: Rebirth Moon Legend back in December, and we honestly thought this was the same game. The two games are strikingly similar, featuring grid based tactical gameplay and anime character designs. Close scrutiny revealed that they are different games, with Spectral Force 3 getting the slight edge thanks to 3D character models and better presentation. We welcome the introduction of tactical RPGs to the 360, but we have to question the graphical philosophies behind both games. Seriously, both of these games could be done on the PSP (and probably should be for that matter). We also find it ironic that a company called Idea Factory is producing two nearly identical games.

Still, with decent gameplay and Live options, Spectral Force 3 could stand out among all the shooters out there. Are you willing to sacrifice bleeding edge graphics for a shot at a tactical RPG? If so, you may want to keep an eye on Spectral Force 3 (or consider picking up a DS).
