300 marching for glory on PSP

Keep an eye out for 300, a PSP exclusive quietly marching under the radar. Based on the upcoming film inspired by Frank Miller's graphic novel (a re-imagining of the historic Battle of Thermopylae), 300: March to Glory seems to be taking a number of cues from its Spartan predecessor God of War, including a fixed camera, blood-showering violence, and d-pad selected powers (or "battle skills"). Fittingly, the odds of 300 succeeding as God of War did are exceedingly slim, in turn, sparking the potential for a surprise hit.
300: March to Glory hits retail February 27.

The movie looks good... Not sure about this game since movie based on game never was success.
At least it is a PSP exclusive

Holy crap, thats a coincidence... I just happen to be reading that graphic novel. Weird.
I'd imagine that the game would stray from its historical roots, though. Playing as a handful of men in a phalanx formation in a small pass would probably not offer a lot of diversity in gameplay. I'm interested to see what they do with this...

I like the fact that the hardcover 300 book is presented in 1080p widescreen format instead of the standard 4:3 ratio of most graphic novels.

@ 3 - lol - you made my day with that comment.... Novel was fantastic, movie should be great considering it's exactly like the GN.
As for the game, who knows... fingers crosses!

LOL, the the graphic novel is printed in 1920x1080 resolution?

This is a news story? Does every game that's getting released get it's own news post? Or did sony issue a "press release" for you to talk about it?
sheppy @ Feb 8th 2007 9:35AM
Wow, Flit certainly has some sand in his vagina.
The reason why this made a news story was because, who the hell knew this was coming out? It's been rather incognito. I haven't seen a single ad or even a preview on most major sites. Hell, I didn't even know this was a PSP exclusive. The only thing I knew about the game was a simple "300" entry on EBgames website. As far as game releases go, this one is flying well below the radar.

You haven't heard anything about it before? Is your browser stuck at joystiq.com? Several other sites have had previews and such.
There just isn't anything to report here. It's a game that will come out. A hands-on or review roundup I can see posting for, but why bother with this specific game? I'm seriously curious.

Whoa, jesus fucking christ. I wouldn't want any graphic novel printed in 1920x1080, maybe a portrait of myself or a poster. By the way you are an idiot, I had a fantastic laugh from this. Almost as funny as hearing "wikipedia reports" earlier on joystiq.
