The 10 commandments of a console launch

Now that the PS3, Wii, and 360 have all launched, the gents at Gaming Nexus have put together a set of standards for console manufacturers to abide by next time they decide to launch new platforms. Commandments if you will. And wouldn't you know it, there's 10 of 'em; 10 things we as consumers don't want to see happen again. For example: thou shall have more than 100k units at launch, thou shall make accessories readily available, and thou shall only launch with one SKU. Read on for the full list peppered with old school ecclesiastical prose. Thou shall entertain.

ok I normally just read the responses at work but this time..... FIRST POST wooooo.

#36 a 60 gig notebook laptop used off ebay runs at/arround $60 after shipping a blue ray player runs still at $999 at best buy. PS3, while still being a barron waist in the market, give it time it will bounce back if the games come its way, has an impressive list of components. Only a few of these are under 100 bucks (sure it has usb ports those are cheap) (Is it a linux core, i remember reading it would have an OS based off linux?)

Wii faults

lack of quality vc games, yes it has improoved alot recently but the 4 weeks of baseball tennis release were terrible. doesnt help that a nes cartridge is being re-sold to me for $5 and snes $8. id prefer 2.50, 5.00 and 10 but thats just me

game drought. wow nothing after launch till wario-ware. now wii play. then mario party in march. looks like 1 a month for alittle bit but man flood the vc or something

as to controllers in stock, hit or miss at this point. some days i see bunches others none, and whats the deal with the over priced wii mem cards?

360 faults
HDMI???? I dont have it but i hate to think new systems will get it and mine wont. if you build without you make an attachment.

Hd-dvd, well dude above is wrong this was a smart add on. not knowing who will win blue ray or hd-dvd it makes sence to go external so that if hd-dvd fails you can make a blu-ray drive. just hate id have to buy another $200 drive.

micro transactions..... hit or miss, somethings are great otheres like EA being satan are not. Consumers need to buy what they feel is fair not all the products. supply and demand woooo

as to the overheat and defects, they fixed my within a week and that was during this past christmas, it was a launch console. made it that far wow, i was satisfied with M$ and its treatment of me on that one.

finally PS3

never never never NEVER tell yor customer base they will need a second job to pay for your system, he even went further to say we believe consumers should work harder to purchase our system.

No jack ass i work damn hard now and you are here to entertain me, get it in my hands for cheap and i will give you money throughout its life cycle.

(but shaggy youre anti ps3, well i owned ps1 i camped for ps2, id love to have a ps3 but im not dropping 600 for motorstorm and resistance) (btw gears of war crushes that)

Also dont ever show me pre-render and tell me its reall then show me warhawk and it look nothing like killzone then launch said system with motorstorm that looks like 50% of what you showed graphics wise, I am intelligent not a sucker. In time i do believe ps3 will produce those visuals, it should be able to looking at whats in it, but dont lie about now to try and justify my "need of an extra job"

lastly on sony dont say look at our games when every week another becomes non exclusive when tekken and mgs and FF leave i predict sony is done.

over all each console has its issues remember that and enjoy what works on them
