LocoRoco sequel outed? Not quite
Unless he's got a parade of man-servants lugging around a PlayStation 3, 1080p display, and generator to power the two, then Phil Harrison's been spending his time traveling from session to session at D.I.C.E. with a LocoRoco sequel on a decidedly smaller platform. PSP? Nope, mobile. According to IGN, Harrison said he'd been playing "LocoRoco's next version on the way" over to a Q&A with the gaming site.Sure, it could be that Harrison let slip the near-complete condition of a presupposed PSP sequel, but he's got more business savvy than that. Besides, IGN was asking him what he'd been playing on other platforms, ruling out PSP and PS3; not that more LocoRoco isn't headed to those formats. In December, Harrison confirmed that multiple LocoRoco games were in development, indicating that a PSP sequel is likely underway. That some of those cuddly blobs will be bounding onto the PS3 store seems like a no-brainer too.

Loco Roco was a blast, but needed more boss battles.

Locoroco with sixaxis would be freakin sick!

As far as the question about other platforms, I took his answer as a dodge. He said something like 'there's so much great stuff on our platform, i haven't had time to play others'. Plus in the same answer he also said he was playing a lot of the floaty duck game which will be a PS3 download title. I don't think he wanted to acknowledge anyone else's platform.

LocoRoco would be a perfect PSN downloadable game. It was made for the motion sensing sixaxis.
I have the PSP version, but would buy it again for the PS3 to see it in HD, hear it in 5.1 and control it with the sixaxis.

Unless one made the game 3D side-scrolling (a-la Super Smash Bros), then there would be no reason to port it to PS3, (unless as a PS Store download, which would be nice)
Why can't Sony make cross compatiblitiy the OTHER way? (copy PSP games to your PS3 memory)

February 8, 2007 - Sony's worldwide studios chief Phil Harrison gave a Q&A session at D.I.C.E. in Las Vegas today, and he disclosed a couple new titles we can expect for the PlayStation 3 and PSP.
When asked what he has been playing on other platforms, Harrison said he has enough to play on the PS3 and PSP. But he said he was playing "Loco Roco's next version on the way" to the Q&A.
Harrison didn't provide any details, but the fact he was playing the game on the go would mean it will arrive on the PSP. We'll have more updates from D.I.C.E. throughout the day.

Loco Roco is officially THE best game for PSP. XBLA would be great.

If there is an "official" best game for PSP it is Lumines, not LocoRoco.
I had fun with LocoRoco and all, but I never beat it because everything about it just got old to me. L, R, L+R, L, L, L+R, R, L, R, L, L+R. Thats pretty much the gameplay. And it gets kinda tiresome, especially since the L+R buttons on the PSP blow. And, the graphics, while gorgeous, also get tired. They're not much better than fancy flash-style vector-based graphics. And each world looks about the same except with different colors and slightly different-shaped wiggly things.
I found I could play that game for no more than a half hour at a time before it loses its appeal. Lumines, however, I can play for hours without a break... too bad I don't have the time to play it right now, damn you homework!
