is this some sort of a mod? anyway looking at the vid imagine what nintendo could have done with the power of the gamecube or the wii by making a 2d mario on one of those consoles (heck even the n64), why does nintendo think 2d mario's will only sell on handhelds and wont make one anymore on a console?

Pretty funny video.

I'm disappointed that I have to ask this though. What was the song at the title, and mainly, the credits? Was that a mario brothers song, becuase I'm personally have a brain freeze right now. I want to say its from the very old 2 player Mario Brothers Arcade or Mario 2. Though, It sounds like it could be from something else. Any help?

It reminds me a lot of the Battlefield vs. Nintendo video.

2D gameplay flies in the face of the "graphics is king" mentality that seems to rule consoles today. It also seems to be a little cheap for most of them to consider charging $50 - making a 2D platformer today costs practically nothing compared to making something like Lost Planet. Number of people who worked on Super Mario Bros? Seven.

i think it can be done with a copy of private serve game. GM can do whatever they want with the game. it doesn't looks like a flash game to me.

but they could easily make both a new mario game and a old school mariot ype game with updated graphics, or add a unlockable game inside a new mario game that features 2d gameplay. And it doesnt just fly in the face off consoles today but apperently on the psp 2d also doesnt sell.

"Given that the video comes to us from The Last Boss, it's a bit ironic that the only weak moment is the boss fight at the end of the lava level. Did he just use really bad breath on him FTW?"

He stands on a lever to kill the monster, like the lever behind Bowser in the classic Mario Bros game.

New Super Mario Bros. and Paper Mario.

I do agree with you, though, Strangler. Not a full disc game, but a VC download that is simply a 2d mario adventure from scratch. Hell, they could probably get big 2D Mario fans (like me and you) to do some of the work for free!!

What was that song at the end?

It's been so long since I've played the old Mario's, my sister took my SNES and my Super Mario All-Stars and I haven't seen them since. D:

If anyone is itching for a 2-D Mario side scroller, plug in a controller in your PC and download Super Mario: Blue Twilight. Here's the link:
