Crackdown was the hot topic discussed overnight (1-5 am) last night on the Live Channel while I played Gears, so that's really encouraging! I love the demo; can't wait to get achievement points for playing! (I've been holding off playing much because..
1. I don't want to be burnt on it before the game hits and
2. I'm addicted to Achievements...

I agree. It is cool that Realtime Worlds can say "Yeah we missed this and this but we're gonna fix it before you guys get the game" unlike alot of developers. The fact that they have a patch before the game is even on shelves maybe means we can look forward to some really early content, maybe a whole new extension to the story after it's been out a week :P.

The trend continues. If you think they fixed lag issues that quickly, you are suckers. Were going to get another game that will need another patch, just wait and see.

I must say, I've had this game for almost a week now (I'm a Canadian citizen living in Bangkok, and I took the liberty of buying a modded 360 unit), and I'm addicted to it! Enjoy, once you guys get it stateside!

sekou,

We hope that you enjoy the game that we worked on night and day for the past two years. Next time, perhaps you will consider paying us for our efforts.

Thanks!

Wow Realtime reads our comments thread? Doubtful. But you do have a point... I suppose you ONLY listen to music you've paid for and would NEVER download a recording artist's work right? Gotcha.

I'm neither holy than thou nor purer than the driven snow, but I do have a Rhapsody subscription, so that cuts down on the downloads :-)

Games seem to me to be a little bit more cause and effect; if devs don't make money, games won't be made. There will always be music, whether the recording industry goes to hell or not.

Regardless, enjoy the game.

I totally hear what you're saying. To be honest my reasons for having a modded 360 (which I use only to play copied games; not to cheat in online multiplayer games) are a little different than most. This is in fact my FIFTH 360 unit. I've sent 3 back while still living in Canada, and just recently, good ole' #4 broke while I way here in Thailand. I'd even gone through the trouble of purchasing an extended warranty when I got that unit, only to be told when I called to see about shipping it back that I'd voided the warranty once I left North America. Before I came here I'd spoken to half a dozen xbox customer service reps, making sure I'd be able to not only bring my box overseas, but connect to Live and play w/ my friends. No one once mentioned that clause. So when the time came to shell out some more cash and get my 5th 360, I decided I wasn't going to spend another $500 on a unit as well as $60-$70 per game, only to have it break in another 4 months. You have a valid point about the developers, but honestly, I've spent a great deal of money already. My apologies for being long winded!

good job realtime. :D i dont think developers should be ashamed of patching their games...i mean its just to make the game better for their gamers...not to admit their own faults...
