800 pts MAX!

As soon as I saw 'relit' maps, my willingness to drop some points dropped considerably. As far as I'm concerned either have relit maps as free downloads or not at all.

F*CK YOU, Ubisoft! You already burned me with the original GRAW 1200 point expansion - it was barely worth it, then you dropped the price. I can't even sell it to someone else, I'm stuck with that crap!

Unless this is 400 points or less, Ubisoft can suck it long, and suck it hard.

Too little, too late I say. Vegas just didn't have longevity of past Rainbows for me. The bullet lag of UE3 and unbalanced weapons really got to me after a couple months of playing.

All of that should be free. At the very least, holding out on a MP mode and making people pay for it is incredibly stupid. If you want to be a dick and charge for maps, thats one thing, but charging for gameplay? Good thing I don't play R6 online.

@5

You expect them to do it for free? R6LV is a complete game as-is. You logic could be applied to any expansion which isn't exactly fair. Maybe they did hold it back? But there is no way to tell. No matter how long a game is in development and how many maps are produced, a developer can ALWAYS produces more content after the game ships. Always. So at what point do you finally drop the complaint that it should have been included with the retail game?

agrees w/ #5:

Assasination and Total Conquest modes were available on Black Arrow.

#6:

when they stop releasing re-lit maps at premium.

Suck it up and pay, if you want it. If not, stop complaining. GRAW Chapter 2 has been reduced to 600 pts, and so will this in time. However, if you are a fan of R6, just pay it! IMHO ~ It's not that much for MORE fun.

Caveat Emptor: This game may ruin your Xbox Live connection. It definitely knocked my internet out (along with every computer hooked to the gateway) everytime I tried to play it, and caused all my other online games to do the same until I used the "system maintenance" trick and erased all saved R6V files from the HDD.

There's plenty more imformation posted by gamers who are getting ignored over on the ubisoft forums.

other than re-lit maps, i would pay a premium for this stuff. i haven't played a game this much since rainbow six on original xbox. my only real complaint with the game is that they cannot seem to use the same graphics in multi as in single.

back on topic, alot of you seem to be getting really upset about a price you are all just guessing at. maybe ubisoft learned it's lesson from the GRAW content, much like bethesda did with the horse armor debacle (which i bought anyways)

It's more than just re-lit maps, that's a rather trivial complaint. But the fact that these modes were in previous installments is a compelling argument. If that's the case then I'd be inclined to agree you you.

my primary concern is fragmenting the community. it happened with GRAW. Ppl without dl maps could not play w/ ppl with dl maps, even if the host disabled the new maps.

i don't have high hopes that ubi will fix this for R6V.

I pay $50 a year plur $60 for the game as it is, why should I shell out another $10-$15? Not even for brand new maps! At least GoW gave us new maps for **gasp** free!
Is it me or does it seem like "accessory" is becoming the main theme for the 360? Wireless? $100. Extra game content? Even Lumines has "extra stuff" to purchase.
The only thing I wasted MS points on so far was a downloaded HD movie, which I will never do again because it is in anamorphic widescreen. Why am I downloading HD movies that don't fiill my entire HDTV screen?

Agrees w/ #10:

There's no price listed yet. Don't bitch about price until you know what the price is gonna be ... and yes, it would be nice if it were free, but this is the next generation of gaming: you pay for everything.

Is it a surprise that they're offering content at a cost to the gamer? Did they just start doing that? Not really.

There's no way to know if this was withheld content or new content added in. But it's a rather cynical view to assume that no new content is ever developed after-the-fact. I'm gonna just believe that the developers didn't want to abandon their game once they'd released it and developed some new content that I will buy and thoroughly enjoy.

In the meantime, I'm still having a kickass time playing Attack & Defend in the Calypso, so I've got nothing to bitch about.

R6V is a complete and awesome game. I don't like $10 downloadables, but that is just me. I don't care if they release this stuff as long as you don't have to have it to play with people that do. That truly gives you the choice of paying.

Obviously, you can't jump on a new map or a new mode without paying. But, if half my friends get it and we can play the modes we used to play together, I will be disappointed. I refuse to purchase GRAW2 for what they did on GRAW1, even though I really liked GRAW1. You have to have principles. I may get GRAW2 used, but that is it.

The principle that is wrong with GRAW1 downloadables is that it strongly negatively effected the experience of people who were already enjoying the game. It was one step away from saying "Okay, give us $10 more or you can't play this anymore."

@14 Have you seen the Wii? Accessories is the name of the game for any console.

Also, I don't understand your complaint about anamorphic widescreen movies from the video market place. Anamorphic just means it will play with the proper aspect ratio on 4:3 or 16:9 TVs. If the movie didn't fill your entire HDTV screen it was probably in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Widescreen TVs are 16:9 (~1.78:1). Most movies come with one of 3 widescreen ratios: 1.78:1, 1.85:1 and 2.35:1. 1.78 matches widescreen TVs perfectly. 1.85:1 also typically fills your entire screen due to overscan. 2.35:1 results in black bars on the top and bottom, even on widescreen TVs.

I downloaded a HD movie from the video marketplace and it looked perfect. I just don't think you understand the widescreen formats.

It is amazing how little multiplatform games get ripped at by ravenous fanboys. If this were Gears, Sony fanboys would be screaming and gnashing their teeth.

Hell, when Gears announced FREE maps there was an assload of negative "Gears sucks anyways; it's broken online; every critic on earth is braindead for rating it so high" crap for a game that is obviously awesome, even if it doesn't appeal to you personally.

Here, R6V is getting something that you have to pay for and nobody really is upset except 360 owners, like myself, that are afraid they can't play with their friends if only one side purchases it.

R6:V was a disappointment. I did have fun playing it. And the control scheme is fantastic compared to everyone's fave, Gears of War. And the graphics are nice.

But it's short, I finished it in under 10 hours. And past the halfway point (soon after you get to Vegas), it is ridiculously generic. It's just go to checkpoint, go to checkpoint, wait while team "hacks" computer, go to checkpoint,...

Using hacking a computer as an excuse to make you fight in place for a few minutes just takes the cake. It's a very uninspired story.

It's a ripoff for the price, and I won't be buying any expansions. Given Ubi's history with GRAW, that probably means I won't be able to play online with others who buy the expansion (even on old maps). Yet another reason not to give them more money.

R6:V will be a great game for $20 when it hits that price point.

I was able to play against/with friends who hadn't downloaded the GRAW Chapter 2 Pack after I had already purchased it. You just had to get someone who didn't have the content to host the match. And for those of you who think game developers/publishers make soooooo much money, guess again. These downloads aren't free because development costs money. Does Ubisoft get every penny of the $60 you spent on the game? Maybe at first, but then they pay overhead for their place(s) of business (that means bills, for the business-illiterate...yes, businesses pay bills too...gee golly darn, that's amazing!). Even with possible revenue from in-game advertising, the folks at Ubisoft don't exactly swim in money, and they don't sit atop Snake Mountain laughing at you "silly peasants" for buying their content because it was actually "free" for them to produce. Game developers and publishers have deadlines just like "average" jobs out there. And they have bosses that they answer to...who answer to stockholders. If you don't want the content, don't buy it. Griping and moaning about it won't exactly bring Ubisoft to your door with a dozen roses, a bottle of wine, and a sincere apology for "raping you of that $10".

I like the way General Death thinks. Some people are on here acting like a crime's been committed against them because Ubisoft wants to offer optional content that comes at a price.
