No. Thats absolutely wrong.

You have to broaden the topic. Kill stealing IS okay, when the need is demanded.

Lets say my friend knocks down the guy I'm charging at, with a Sniper (We are speaking GoW here). He downs him. Is it my kill, since I was fighting him, or is it his?

Well, we could allow him to come over, in a Warzone match. But, what if its Execution? Then what? Oh, snap, we let him come over, oh wait, now we are dead.

Yeah. Good call.

Kill Stealing is alright if its warranted. Simple as that. If you do it to be a prick... well, gtfo.

I love kill stealings! Steal my kill in GoW so I can focus on what could be creeping right behind me. I hate it(love it sometimes because it can be pretty fucking funny) when someone bitches at me saying "you stole my.." *splat* and then they die. If they weren't so focused on killing that guy, they could of been saved. It only really matters in GoW when there is only one guy left, is on his knees, then there is no reason to take the kill, but when there are guys swimming all over the place, get the guy dead so the team could start focusing more on their surrounding areas. Trust me, it works. It's even more funny when someone bitches about you taking their kill yet you were both shooting a guy like crazy and it's hard to tell. It's funny when others have watched you two killing a guy and they themselves can't tell, it's not like you can't see the bullets flying at the guy. That's my opinion.

I don't like when team games give you some kind of bonus for personal kills.. it just discourages people from working as a team.

"Bastard! That was my kill! Everyone is taking my kills!"
"I was shooting at him too.."

etc.

Complaining about "stealing" kills has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. If I see an enemy, I shoot him, not look around to see if anyone else has a "more appropriate" proximity to said victim so that I might graciously allow him a kill he "deserves."

If you whine about kill steals, stop gaming online you snatch. No one is entitled to a specific kill.

Isn't GoW designed somewhat to resolve the kill-stealing problem? I mean, you DO get points for downing someone. Example: You have 3 kills and 10 downs. Your teammate has 7 kills and 0 downs. Now, unless your teammate has been excessively chainsawing or grenade tagging, you can pretty confidently accuse your teammate of being a lameass kill-stealer. The proof is right there in the numbers. Plus you get credit for having been the one who downed the enemy, even if the kill itself ended up getting stolen from you. On top of that, there's also points for reviving teammates, so that encourages everyone so work as a team.

I personally don't mind kill stealing in the heat of battle or during a game where you are supposed to work as a team. Most public games that are team based have grown to who gets the most kills overall and not which team wins. This is why clans exist, people who mostly respect each other and understand how the whole teamwork concept works. The only time it does bother me is during an mmorpg when another player just goes around killing everything without respect to others. The online world is filled with far too many immature people that either enjoy making others miserable or complain when they don't get their way. *shrugs*

CAD is a really overrated webcomic imo. Plus Tim Buckley is a head-case, but whatever.

I agree that there is no real reason to count kills in a team game, there are all sorts of ways you can contribute to your team without taking people down. Hell, charging out and beeing a distraction can help more than actually dealing damage sometimes.

It's important that if there is a team, then that team must work together. Kill stealing depends on the situation - sometimes it can be useful.

I agree with the fact that kill stealing in GoW is wrong. I am certainly not the greatest player out there and when I down someone and then a teammate runs over and finishes the kill it is so frustrating. I can't tell you how many times I find myself yelling "Noooooo that's my kill!!!". I think most of the time when I play, the people I play with don't steal kills on purpose. I think the desire to stop the enemy before one of their teammates can revive them is an overwhelming desire. Most of the time when I yell no, it stops the steal, but when there is a threat of revive I would rather my teammate steal away.

Think about what your saying. There is no such thing as "kill stealing". To kill is to end life. If you do not end someone's life then you haven't killed them!!
It would make more sense to call it "near kill stealing" or "nearly a kill stealing" ( NAKS ). Use your brains.

Ummm... That was pretty retarded statement. A "kill" is definition for fragging an enemy. "Kill stealing" is a term for fragging someone who was just about to be fragged by a teammate it. If you want to be picky, call it "frag stealing".

Use your brain.

There is way too much crying about kill stealing. Too much focus on individual stats. It's the TO syndrome. No one cares about the team victory anymore. I find it sad that so many people seem to need all the kills to validate themselves. I don't purposely steal kills, but if I am shooting at someone, and so is a teammate, I could care less who technically downs him. Get over it, and stop crying so much.

there is no crying in xbox!
