Damn, I thought this was pre-release promotional stuff for the US. Way to get my hopes up with the entry title, guys.

It sounds like the game was rushed if bonus content for beating the game once was not already coded into the game disc.

@#3: maybe they wanted to see what people were capable of in the game before setting the difficulty for the next 2 levels?

sounds logical

AWESOME!

I know it doesn't seem like much, But I am getting so damn tired of the super low difficulty level of all jrpgs lately. They all play like baby's first rpg.

How about giving us the game in Europe and US? Like... NOW!
Its great to see that Mistwalker is supporting the game after release. They would be stupid not to. I really really hope that Blue Dragon sells well in US and Europe so Mistwalker keeps on making games for the 360. If have not gotten the information wrong, Mistwalker is making 3 RPG's for the 360, but after that and even during that time, they can do whatever they like. And since it is a Japanese company making japanese games for the japanese market in mind, they will problary stop making games for the 360 if the platform keeps being "unsuccesfull" in Japan.
Or am I wrong?

Didnt this game take up 3 discs?? I guess it shows with that much content they can still add more features to it... Hopefully its FREE in the US.

@9

You may be wrong.... Its really unclear how much "funding" MS has given Mistwalker. If the funding is significant (I bet it is since Mistwalker is making 3 exclusives for 360) then Mistwalker is probably MS's bitch this gen. It could also be timed exclusives too if the funding is not all that much. But one thing's for sure- Blue Dragon most definitely didnt make money in Japan and MW knows that and still made an exclusive so MS is likely covering most of the costs.

My question for people here is:
If you are a developer for Mistwalker, do you want your company to stay afloat by its own powers or being on MS's "good side" and get funding from them? It seems to me that being under MS defeats the whole purpose most of them leaving SE...

I hope that Blue Dragon and the rest of Mistwalkers games does so well in Europe and US that they stay loyal to Microsoft, not only for economic reasons. I really wish for them to be as independent as Sakagushi needs and wishes for his company to be. I guess that MS is leaving trucks full of golden coins outside Mistwalkers offices, specially since Blue dragon sold about 200k copies and that is surely not enough to cover the $20 miljon the game cost to develop. I guess that over time, the Japanese will start buying the 360, and I can see why they do not buy it now. It offers nothing of value to them except Blue Dragon and DOAX2 and Idol Master. I would say that the 360 gives more value than PS3 right now, but atleast they know they will have some great games in the future if they buy the PS3.

When Eternal Sonata, Blue dragon and Lost Oddysey are available for the Japanese gamers, i am sure the 360 will pick up steam in the east. With those games available, including all the other great games coming out this year, I think the 360 is a great system for not only the Japanese but to all 360-owners.

What i think MS has to do to be succesfull in Japan, is to get XBLA going in Japan, with more Japanese-titles. Both new and old games. And they need to release some great games for the DS, that are also available for the 360. Say Rare develop a Viva Pinata game for the DS, then could sneak in that IP through the DS and gamers will hopefully buy the "Big" version for the 360.

Anyway I think that the 360 is a great choice of console, so is the PS3 and the Wii. Thats great with this generation. All consoles can offer something really good.

Wait, 0 yen is 0 dollars?!
..
No just kidding.

@8 I totally agree.

I'm sure eventually the 360 will pick up in Japan, provided the companies continue to give it good games (in the Japanese eyes, I mean.) that will sell well over there. You can't really sell a lot of copies of a game for a system that didn't really sell well either. :P
