I'll take Forza 2. Even though I loved GT4 and never played Forza, I am now an Xbox man.

Saying you prefer one over another isn't flaming. Saying one absolutely sucks and every game on it's platform sucks and anyone who plays it is retarded (or anything to that nature)...that's flaming.

I prefered Forza over Gran Turismo 4. The majority of critics would agree with that as well. Forza2 is coming out in a few months. GT5 isn't out until 2008 sometime. Those are the facts. With that said, I'll love them both, but am more excited about Forza2 since I'll actually be playing it soon. In about 15 months, I may be more excited about GT5, as Forza2 will be a good year old by then.

Oh, the short answer. Forza.

Right now Forza 2 bc I own a 360 but hopefully by the time GT5 comes out there will have been a price drop and enough good games for me to buy a PS3. I wonder how long it will be before the 60 GB drops to $400? That's my limit.

You don't count. The discussion is on a couple of the top realistic racing simulators. The Wii won't have any.

Forza al the way. GT still doens't allow for you car to be damaged. How realistic is that? Coupled with the lack of rumble... i don't see how it can ever be a contest. What, are you gonna use motion sensing to make the steering ever worse?

But if I had to choose, Forza 2... Because I have a 360.

I'm not big into racing games. :( I wish I was. But my attention span doesn't last long enough to play them.

A bit premature to say the Wii won't have any realistic racing simulators

It could render something with better graphics than GT4 with the Wii Remote (although its doubtful if that will ever happen)

But the point is, don't discount it yet

Personally, i find something more endearing about Gran Turismo, even though i can't define it, on the surface the games are carbon clones...

I do think Gran Turismo 5 will be one of the best remembered games of the PS3

It's not going to be Forza 2 or GT5.

Forza 2 is coming out this spring (May), GT5 next spring, with maybe a demo before the end of the year. And Gran Turismo is famous for long delays.

Besides, it's way too early to make any comparison when we know so little of GT5.

Or, you could post in a topic about MarioKart.

:o Snap

And unless your real car is a Ferrari Enzo and you have a closed circuit track, you may not be able to experience what Forza is simulating. Driving your Purple Geo Prism to the supermarket for frozen pizzas and condoms might not be quite the same.

I called it 'the shitmobile'

bought it for $800, 3 days later it broke down and i had to pay $1000 to fix it.

I'll pick Forza over GT anyday. GT always threatens to put me to sleep, but I can sit around for hours tweaking every little thing about my car in Forza.

Can't wait.

With the delays on GT, it could well be Forza 3 vs GT 5, assuming Forza team is on the same two year cycle as Bizarre is (which they probably are, since they share tech).

Screw that, I'm with the other Wii faithfuls...Mario Kart Wii FTW!

besides, I've always viewed Forza like I view DOA. I'm not going to play Forza when it's just trying to be a better Gran Turismo. Why not just play GT? I'm not going to play DOA when it's trying to be a better VF...pass...I'll just play VF.

Why do Nintendo commentors have to post in every article no matter what? WTF? Joystiq simply asks GT or Forza. Gee, ah, I derno, wait...MarioKart. Yahoo, Yippeee, Zowieeeee! (sounds of 9 year olds imitating Mario)

Man, you boys/girls probably don't do very good on multiple choice tests and probably give the people that count up Polls a serious headache.

Who do you vote for, Bush or Kerry...Miyamoto FTW!

I'm sorry. I know my posts are often stupid, and this one is no gem. But do you actually have a reasonable, logical reason why a quarter of these posts are answering "GT or Forza" with Mariokart. Why not Fzero, or Cars, or 3D Worldrunner? Those ansers would make just as much sense.

3D Worldrunner, with the glasses, FTW!

"I won't play Forza because it is trying to be GT5"

Not exactly. GT5 is trying to be 4 which was trying to be 3 which....

Forza is influenced by GT, but significantly different. Forza and GT are trying to be like real life, hence the term simulators. And if you refuse to play games that are influenced by other games, you probably don't have to play anything new now.

I went back to Gran Turismo 4 after playing Forza for 11 months solid. I'm having more fun with GT4, less arcady. Planet Earth has more fun with GT4.

Forza2. Because it'll be here sooner.

But the graphics are not braking the mold from Forza (which was graphically disappointing) and the 360 steering wheel isn't even as good as the GT4 wheel. It is a testament to MS' marketing power that people think it's awesome when it's not even up to snuff for the $150 price range it is in.

Why do two people list Forza as more arcady than GT4? I found Forza to be more simmy than GT4.

I hope Forza feels more finished this time. Not being able to adjust the aero on full race spec cars was complete BS. And the lack of a reverse lockout, it auto downshifting from 3rd straight to 1st, and the faulty engine rev notes (the Impreza engine note stops rising at the redline as the revs go 1500 higher) combined to make manual shifting a losing proposition.

Forza had a lot of potential, but it fell short in several ways. Last time, I preferred GT4 to Forza. This time it could be different.

Forza 2.

I owned an original Playstation, for which the original GT was one of my first (and favourite) games.

Bought an Xbox and GameCube last-gen, however, and so became hooked on Forza...

With a Wii and 360 this time around, it's looking like Mario Kart + Forza 2 + Project Gotham 4 + Burnout 5 for me :)
