Harsh words are being spoken by an anonymous developer at Gamesblog. Apparently, development for Sony's handheld has come to a halt over in the United Kingdom. Supposedly, the platform is too powerful for its own good, making development unjustifiably costly, when compared to its smaller userbase. "At a GDC conference in Brighton last year, everyone walked away from the PSP. Developers had to budget for PS2 content on a handheld with a tiny userbase. Its not cost effective, (especially when the alternative DS has a massive userbase and is cheap to develop for)."Certainly, this isn't a good sign for a system that many are quick to say are "failing." However, one look at PSP's upcoming library for 2007 still shows a great deal of promise, even if UK developers aren't on board.
