So does this mean I can start binge eating and then blame Pac-Man when I'm 300 lbs.?

I wouldn't believe much that The Times prints after all it's owned by Rupert Murdoch. Also I'm surprised it isn't The Mail that's spouting this hatemongering drivel. That could at least do more than a five minute internet search and grab mostly rumours and speculation. A journalist should know better, tut tut tut.

Just you wait next week The Express will link the death of Princess Diana to a teenage chav paparazzi drug dealer who had been trained to kill by playing Q'bert.

Now I'm all for the right of people to play whatever the want. But usually when you hear a story about a game causing someone to do something, they just happen to have that game in their house. But this guy was playing GTA IN HIS CAR, before he got into an accident. It just doesn't seem like a coincidence to me.

Now does that mean that Sony or video games as a whole should be blamed for this? Of course not. But this guy clearly was idiotic enough to have the concept of driving recklessly immediately following playing the game. The point could be made, that he wouldn't have had the thought of driving like he did, had he not just finish playing Gran Turismo.

Then again these guys probably were street racers anyway. And they probably sucked at GTA since it's a driving simulator, not arcade style like Burnout.

On another note, while people certainly have a right to if they want to, I think having a TV in your car is retarded. Even if you're parked, it's just not a good idea to have your mind filled with other images when you're driving. I guess if you want to keep the kids occupied in that 5 hour minivan trip, it's understandble. But please don't be talking on your cell phone, and watching "The Fast & the Furious" when you're pulling out of the mall parking lot. /rant

Well Judd for the most part, i believe LCDs and TVs int he car are fine, since people spend a lot of time in them, but when the car is driving, most of the stuff that can disrput the driver should be disabled like most things that come with say, the GPS of factory cars. They only let you fiddle with things when the car is in park.

Either way, dont let the actions of a dumb*ss few, ruin the freedom of the rest.

Who'd win in an eating contest? Pac-Man or Kirby? Cooking Mama could prepare all the food and the guy from Burger Time would be the host.

Here's a video of a couple of teens playing Initial D, and afterwards they go out trying to drift in their real cars and crash:

So, yeah, video games really do encourage idiots to drive recklessly.

Street racing existed before video games.

Ask yourself this: Are they street racing because they like racing games or are they playing racing games because they like street racing?

Maybe they should sell an insurance policy with the game or have a disclaimer.

Damn all of you 10 year olds who think GT is a realistic driving simulator!! Damn you all to hell! One of your kind was convinced that he could do in real life what he was capable of in GT!

Naw, I'm just kidding. GT is cool. This guy was just a retard.

And newspaper editors wonder why their medium is on the way out the door. With fear mongering coverage like this, their extinction can't come soon enough.
