why the hell is this news? its says XBL is down from 2AM to 5AM. 3 hours down time in the wee hours of the morning isnt that important.

ryanredzie-

Crackdown just comes with a Halo 3 invite code. The Halo 3 beta program does not begin until sometime in March most likely.

I do agree though. Alot of people are going to want to be playing Crackdown tommorrow. So why in the hell didn't they just do the damn update today?

steve17-

based on the fact that 3,000,000+ gamers subscribe to XBOX Live, I'd say 3 hours of downtime would be pretty pertinent information considering the fact that this IS a gaming blog.

When a major freeway closes down in a large city, it makes the news. How in the hell is this any different? Not everyone logs on to xbox.com. That is why companies make press releases, so that media outlets, such as joystiq.com can pass the information around to their customers. Otherwise Joe Schmoe would be flipping out tommorrow around 2 am when his 360 won't log on to XBOX Live. Now he knows why. Get it?

@steve17

Remember, some people (ie, me) work nightshift, and on their nights off (ie, feb 20th), they sometimes like to play games on xbox live.

...Damn it. :(
