Well hopefully they didn't steal any of the programmers from Bethesda. Those Elder Scrolls guys create the buggiest games upon release, going all the way back to Arena. No wonder fans have to create mods for unofficial patches for bugs Bethesda won't ever fix (Morrowind & Oblivion have unofficials).

Oblivion is fun to play though, which is strange since I could not get into Morrowind AT ALL, after enjoying Arena so much (skipped over Daggerfall, even though I bought it, it's in my closet somewhere).

Wait, isn't this the guy who also helped create Paranoia, perhaps the best-written tabletop RPG ever? It'd be cool if the project was somehow related to his work on Paranoia. Hell, a console-based, online version of Paranoia (where you had a party of five or six players) would be awesome.

Sweet... the more RPGs the better.

As a Baltimore resident, these stories about the local games industry really just make my day.

As an ex-Baltimorian, I hope you keep your head down while reading Joystiq. :)

David Gaider (a Bioware developer) had this to say about Ken on the RPGCodex site:

"We had Ken Rolston come by a few months back to talk to us about his views on RPG's and the industry. He was exceptionally candid and had some brilliant thoughts on where RPG's should be going. I, for one, hope that he's been lured out of retirement by getting to make the RPG of his dreams. I'd buy it."

I find it unfortunate that this game is going to be a console port for us PC gamers, though.

If BHG was shopping in Maryland for stratagy people, I wonder who they tried to get from Firaxis before going to Bethsoft.

The concept art for the game looks really cool... I thought it might have been an RPG given the number of swords and whatnot they had sketches for, or that they were working on an asian-themed expansion for Rise of Legends. The various monsters and characters looked a bit like the beasts from Jade Empire, but darker.
