A licensed game on the VC? How promising!

Never liked the first Ninja Turtles. 2 and 3 were the fun ones.

I recently got Turtles going on my Nes.
Limited continues really make hard games too hard (and frustratingly repetitive).

I still have working cartridges of both of these, but I can't beat either. I can get to the Technodrome, but then I'm screwed. And in Zombies, there are about 12897052975 levels and I've never had a good run with somebody I can trust. I always end up alone getting eaten by a mummy or stomped on by a giant baby.

Dear Konami,

I love you.

Now just get TMNT2 (NES) and TMNT4 (SNES) up on there. There's some multiplayer good times.

"The game none of you ever beat."

Ha! I did beat that game! Only once though. Out of about a billion tries. That game was crazy hard.

I might get TMNT for nostalgia alone - that game was so WEIRD. I never felt like I was playing a game that was meant for the Turtles - it felt like they were just thrown into some existing game design, a la Super Mario 2.

Never played Zombies Ate My Neighbors, but the game magazines at the time seemed to like it.

Ah, the Technodrome. Once you get inside, all hell breaks loose. Never could finish that one either. Still a fun game, I'm sure it'd still challenge me today.

Oh man, that TMNT game. Impossibly hard. I have no idea how far I even got in that game. I still loved it though, but man was it hard.

The original TMNT was definitely the best. I beat it a few times back in the day. SCROLLS are a turtle's best friend. ;)

TMNT was the first NES game my brother and I had -- it was crazy hard, and I don't recall if either of us ever beat it. I can't remember... did it have any sort of save/password function? I'm going to have to go look up some info on it. It's been so long...

I remember getting to the Technodrome and almost getting to Shredder when my mom and sister forced me (FORCED ME) to turn it off so they could watch their afternoon soap operas.
I was pissed, and rightfully so. About a week later I got back to that same point (later in the day, after the soaps) and finally beat that game. I haven't played it since.

That was so many years ago, and such a triumph over the villany of sisters and mothers that I'm not sure I want to play it again.
I've heard great things about Zombies Ate My Neighbors though, so that I'll pick up. Gotta support the zombie lobby.

zenprism, I know you were probably a little kid at the time and didn't realize this, but you could have just paused the game and left the Nintendo on while your sis and mom watched TV. Then after they were done, just unpause and continue your game.

Even if leaving it on screwed up all the other channels (due to it using the RF input back then), you could have just unplugged it from the TV and left it on and then plugged it back in when you were ready to continue your game.

There was no need to turn off the Nintendo.

Come to think of it, I made the exact same mistake this weekend with Twilight Princess. I was at the end of the game in the middle of fighting Ganon, and I had to leave so I turned off the game fully realizing I had to restart the entire fight with Ganon from the beginning later which kind of made me mad. Later on that day I realized I could have just paused the game and turned off the TV, and then come back later to pick up where I left off.
