FlOw, Q-Bert and a Ridge Racer demo coming this Thursday
Playstation 3 owners will have something other than Virtua Fighter 5 to choose from this week as Sony will be releasing two new titles for their online service and a relic from the past in demo form.The long awaited aquatic enigma FlOw will be making its way to the Playstation Network with a price tag of $7.99. Joining it will be the perpetually-hopping, foul mouthed, not to mention terrible roommate known as Q-Bert. We may not have anything nice to say about the guy, but his game is a classic and will be available for $4.99.
And in case you passed it up at launch, a free demo of Ridge Racer 7 will be made available and capable of that magical resolution of 1080p.

I looked at Flow and while it is a lovely toy -- for a while -- until boredom settles in -- I think they forgot to put in the game. Maybe they have juiced it up for PS3, but if not, I can't see spending money on it. Q-Bert, I might buy though -- I have fond memories of that little bastard.

Flow looks cool. Reminds me of Geometry Wars, even though they are clearly different. I can't remember what I played for GeoWars, but $8 seems about right.

i dont see the point in people linking to the flash game all the time... its such a stripped down version

I'm sure flOw will play better on the PS3 than it does on the PC, but I just don't get it. It was a boring Flash game that was a great artistic showcase for the developer, but it's essentially Xbox Live Arcade's Feeding Frenzy with a graphics overhaul.

It features five creatures to fully form. The games is drastically overhauled in ways as subtle as design and ease of understanding to as drastically as using the SixAxis to guide the lifeform (not analog support). Early reports claim disappointment at only being a 2 hours game but... it's $8 and like games in this genre, it's the experience that's your goal, not the end of the game.

Hang on a sec.
$8 for flOw. People seem content.
$8 for A Link to the Past. People revolt.
I agree with Dracula. flOw, while interesting, is a flash game pure and simple, and doesn't have the staying value to demand that kind of price. While I agree that $8 is a bit much for a SNES game, at least I get a good 30 or so hours gameplay out of it.

@Wolfe_boy
How the hell does Link to the Past give you 30hours of gameplay? Last time I played it through, GBA, it only took about 6.
Also, It is $8 for a game we havn't played before (Not that I'd pay $8 for flow) vs $8 for something we already payed $40+ for in the past or $20-30 (gba) is why people revolt when they hear SNES games are $8 a pop. How many times are they going to charge you to play a game? Of course $8 if you have never played A Link to the Past before sounds palatable, but then I'd question, Why havn't you played one of the best games of all time before the VC release?
