Add every xboxlive game just like you added the vc games and I bet those numbers would change.

lol even if he did it wouldn't make a difference, don't know if you noticed, but live arcade games have been few in the past couple on months...

@Finn

"Look if people weren't willing to buy new ip's for the wii then why is red steel the second highest selling wii game right now."

Because the Wii is in a drought!

Haha, I'm just playing. Tho if a crappy game like Red Steel is the second highest selling game on the Wii, then it doesnt really help the notion that there isn't a drought.

I went through the lists again to double check, they had some EA title double listed. The total Wii games goes down to 36 total games since it's release:

Sonic and the Secret Rings
Wii Play
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Chicken Little: Ace in Action
Elebits
Far Cry: Vengeance
Metal Slug Anthology
Super Swing Golf
World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions
The Ant Bully
Barnyard
Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
Open Season
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Need for Speed Carbon
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Call of Duty 3
Cars
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Excite Truck
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
GT Pro Series
Happy Feet
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Madden NFL 07
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Metal Slug Anthology
Monster 4x4: World Circuit
Rampage: Total Destruction
Rapala Tournament Fishing!
Rayman: Raving Rabbids
Red Steel
SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
Trauma Center: Second Opinion

Trust me, most of those games are crap, but we weren't talking about quality.

The graph ignores the issue of demand. The Wii is certainly in higher demand than the 64 or the Cube. Yes, the 64 in particular is remembered as having an early drought, but (personal anecdote warning) I walked into a store two days before the release date and bought one with no trouble (remember back when you could do that?), which was a far cry from my experience trying to get a Wii.

Erm, the graph ignores demand because it has NOTHING to do with demand? All it shows is number of new games available, that's it.

yes but a system in higher damand is going to come out with WAY more 3rd party games (at least I think thats what he means) because game devs go where the money is at.

Games take longer than 3 months to be made, usually. The effect of demand on game numbers shouldn't be applicable at this point in time for Wii and PS3 (though possibly so for XBox 360).

So the Wii has more games than the N64 or the Cube did at this point in time? Cool. It also came out 2 days after the PS3 and has 15 more games than it (36 to 21 at Metacritic right now). And it has more downloadable games than the 360 (56 to 45). The Wii is also the only 7th generation system to have flawless 100% backwards compatibility with its 6th generation relative. Every Cube game works. Where's the fucking drought? Anybody?

Comments added to express actual game quality instead of saying crap.

Sonic and the Secret Rings The best 3D sonic game in years. Much better then the hedgehog game for the xbox 360 and PS3. Probably loads better since Sonic Team didn't make it.

Wii Play for ten bucks which is what it actually costs it's great for wiimote training.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves frantic fun and is great to show off to non-gamers.

Chicken Little: Ace in Action got pretty decent reviews for a licensed game. Read the reviews before you start calling it crap off the bat.

Elebits quirky highly rated.

Far Cry: Vengeance a poor port job. Rushed out the door.

Metal Slug Anthology hey it's not crap for the price of seven games. SNK was going to charge 35 bucks a pop for the gba ports of the first three and xbox owners paid more then that for just one game.

Super Swing Golf pretty decent fantasy golf game. It even has button controls for the whiners.

World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions crap on all systems.

The Ant Bully licensed movie crap on all systems.

Barnyard licensed movie crap on all systems.

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown fairly average movie game meaning better then 90% of movie games.

Open Season haven't played or read reviews.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent some people love the controls while others hated. Strangely enough those who loved the controls hated splinter cell games on other consoles because they found the game unplayable due to the controller configs.

Need for Speed Carbon wii version considered the most fun.

Avatar: The Last Airbender licensed tv show game average from the reviews I think

Call of Duty 3 some reviewers consider the wii version to get since it is the most fun. Others the 360 while still others said the PS3 followed by the Wii then the xbox 360.

Cars descent movie game.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 considered very good and shows that fighters can work with the wiimote nunchuck.

Excite Truck very good sales and reviews.

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy descent tv show fighting game. Have to love the OG Dracula character.

GT Pro Series rushed.

Happy Feet crap on all systems.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess haters of the motion controls didn't even get to archery or horseback sword fighting.

Madden NFL 07 wii version considered the most fun.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance once again wii version considered most fun.

Monster 4x4: World Circuit rushed port crap.

Rampage: Total Destruction for a budget it isn't too bad.

Rapala Tournament Fishing! rushed crap. Waiting for the Hudson game to come out if I have a hankering for a fishing game.

Rayman: Raving Rabbids considered a lot of fun. Wii version superior to all other future console versions. Also the graphics wouldn't be any better on the other systems. Many of the games wouldn't work either.

Red Steel not as bad as some people claim if you take the time to learn the controls. People that detest fps games state they have no problem with the game and even enjoy it. Which explains why Japanese and European reviewers who detest fps games gave high reviews to it. A sequel is a must buy since they would fix the issues.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
the games have always been considered fun from reviewers.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz definetly shows that monkey ball has a future on the wii.

Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam pretty decent game and better then project eight.

Trauma Center: Second Opinion excellent.

Funny how 90% of the games aren't crap.

Look if you want a decent follow up to LOZTP for wii then get dragon ball. It is an awsome fighting game and takes a while to 100%. THere is a ton of Z items and its awsome to play with other people. Some may think punching people through mountains gets old but for me it just doesn't. There are so many characters and it is totaly worth it. Call of Duty 3 was alot of fun. I don't see why people were bitching about it. I personally like shooting nazis so....... There will be alot of other good games. If Mortal Kombat is as easy to control as the devs are saying then its gonna be one kick ass game. Gestures work great for some games. I thought the wiimote would suck ass for fighting games but I was wrong. Whats even better is the fact that you can use the gcn or VC controller to play these games. In DBZ:BT2 I personally like using the wiimote beter. I got used to it so I execute the moves pretty fast.

How about break the line for the Wii into "genre" of game and then try and match it up with the cube. You'll see what's pushing the Wii high is the kiddie games and party games. Those lines should be comparing similar game types cause really, those of us worrying about a drought are talking about the standard old-day Nintendo games, not all the millions of party and thrid party pieces of shit that have been coming out.

Don't believe the bullshit. There is a drought as far as good, standard Nintendo quality games go.

@40 Finn

Dude, what the hell? My entire post was about how you can't compare a AAA Wii game like Mario to AAA 360 game like Gears of War. Then, you try to compare Mario to Gears to counter an argument that I never made. wtf?

You can't compare the Wii to the 360 or PS3. You just can't. They both play games on TVs and are a way to spend time. That is where the comparisons stop. This is why 360 owners are amazed at Nintendo fanboys "ignorance" and vice versa. We don't like the same stuff.

@ idioteraser

I as well was not saying they were all crap. I personally own 8 titles:

DBZ
Excite Truck
LoZ
Madden
Rayman
Wii Sports
Elebits
WarioWare

I personally don't enjoy playing most of the titles from Movies/TV shows (which make up a good percentage of the list). I also plan on getting Sonic and Wii Play when I can find them.

YOUR WRONG I personally prove that by owning and likeing both systems, the comparisons don't stop, you said in so many words that the 360 has deeper more mature games then the wii does, so I named 3 "
"deep" mature wii games comming out, I could have included much more (Zelda for instance). You clearly have no idea what your talking about if you don't think you can possibly compair two VIDEO game systems.

I LOVE gears of war, and I LOVE mario 64 and will probably like galaxy just as much if not more. Just because one's about shooting aliens and another is about looking for stars in levels, it certainly doesn't mean that a person can not get the same level of enjoyment out of both of the games. And compare them.

And btw when I was comparing Sunshine and Gears it was refering to your insistance that Gears is somehow a more adult oriented game that wii fan's would be squimish over. And I was simply telling you that to ME Sunshine was harder, in fact to hard for a lot of younger gamers (at the higher levels) than Gears, therefore on gameplay alone I feel Sunshine is more "mature" because it takes a better gamer to really play it. How about if a Mario game had Marcis Fenix instead of mario in it, all the levels dark and greatly detailed. But the gameplay was the same (more realistic looking though) would you play it then... would it meet your criteria.

Your point also doesn't account for cross platform games.. COD3, rayman etc.. what if rayman sells more for the 360 than it did for the wii, will that change your mind completly

Why can't we all just agree that we aren't going to see any consoles drop out of the war this generation and get on with life and talk about what we're excited about rather than bashing each other's opinions. This has gotten ridiculous. When all is said and done every system will have something to offer. Nintendo will just have more to offer than anyone else :p

I agree with you, but when I read the comments to find out what people think about the daily news, people just start bashing away at the post seemingly just to be stupid, and seeing how I'm bored I call them out on their shananagins.... You'll never find a post made by me bashing any system based on what the story is about though, I just like to mess with the bashers... think I used that word enough for the day

Lack of 3rd party support = crappy console

*Fuck Nintendo
