Simply awesome. This proves to me that I've made the right choice in game systems :) As a huge WC fan, I'd buy any system in order to play a new WC game.

Now I'll sit here and wait for a Freespace sequel.

Does this mean no single player? I mean, thats why people liked the game to begin with. If it's just multiplayer, this will fit right in with all the other disappointments XBLA has brought us....

This has pretty much sold me on my decision to buy a 360 instead of a nice video card. I wonder what level of graphics to expect? I wonder which generation of fighters we will get to fly? (hopefully the sweet rides of WC2/Privateer and not the boxy polygonal WC3/4 ones)

I will rue and lament the lack of cartoon or mark hammill-powered cutscenes though.

Hmmm... I wounder if this version will allow you to choose your girlfirend.... ;)

Serriosly, a new WC? HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!!!! Let's just hope that the lack of anything Origin doesn't screw it all up.

The description of the game makes it sound like Crimson Skies in space. A good game concept, but likely to disappoint a lot of WC fans.

It's true sir, the Kilrathi have invisible fighters.

They'll probably have something like the simulators in WC1 and WC3 for single player missions, at very least.

Anyone else think this is another sign that EA is playing catch-up this generation on two important fronts?: Downloadable games (a la XBLA), and Wii games.

I never liked the original WC games, but this does peak my interest. But if it has the old retro wack graphics I will pass..

And as far as a date of this goes. I would not expect it till 2008 at least. The XBLA has a 6-9 month cert process that each game must go through. To put it into perspective, XBLA titles they announced at LAUNCH still aren't out yet.. Companies need to wise up and stay off this XBLA crap if you want your games to see the light of day.

Where the hell do you get 6-9 months for Cert? The company I used to work for never saw it take more than two weeks -- and that was for much bigger games than Arcade publishes. But if a dev ships crap code into Cert, guess what, it will fail.

And guess what -- every system has the equivalent. Check with developers if you think Sony's process is soo great. Of course VC gets stuff out fast, there are no developers involved since all they are doing is shipping ROMs from games that already got tested and certified a decade ago. Let's see how smoothly it goes when/if htey ever try anything new.

I guess all you whiners would be really happy and not complain about buggy shit that breaks the system, formats your hard drive, can't see the network, etc.... as long as it came out every week?

The more I see and read about this, the more I am depressed. The graphics look really bad, and there is no single player campaign to speak of. Probably wont even have Luke doing some awesome cheese FMV, either.

And damn, they need some texture artists badly. Look at that blur.

After looking at the pics at wcnews.com I am less enthusiastic than before. They look worse than WC Prophecy ten years ago. And it doesn't look like they're using the classic WC radar anymore.
