Its just like 'Over the mountain' on the Apple ][. Only with worms and super xremeexx weaponry!!!

Who doesn't love calculating angles and velocity? I'm being serious here.

Its hard to explain why just make sure you play it and within a few minutes you'll understand what all the fuss is about.

I don't get it either ZenGaijin.

For less than the 360 Live game I could buy Worms Armageddon or that other one they made that has even more stuff, online, higher resolutions, custom levels from bitmaps, custom soundbanks etcetc.

This is as flawed as classic Doom on the 360.

I've played Worms before (though it was some time ago) it was nothing to right home about...at least then. I'll give the demo a whirl but everyone is all up in arms about Worms and I am WAYYYY more excited about what Behemoth is doing with 2-D shooters and Beat-em ups.

Warms is similar to Cannon or War for the older assed systems like Amiga and c64.

-U have a team of worms. Turn based moves.
-Each move lets u move one worm at a time to perform a move to another part of the map and then maybe to attack once.
-Standard mobility includes walking and jumping. Using special items (limited use) includes grapple ropes (like Spidey), jet packs, and teleporters.
-standard attack includes bazooka. It's unlimited ammo, but must be aimed VERY well. It's affected by gravity (travels in an arc or parabala) and wind, so when trying to hit a far away target, the one with the best mad skillz will win there
-special attacks are limited in ammo, but are more powerful/versatile/easier to use, like napalm, air strike, shotgun, pistol, exploding sheep, and the holy hand grenade (no ref to Monty Python from what i heard).... WHICH THEY INEXPLICABLY OMITTED FOR THE XBLA VERSION
-there's terrain that can be destroyed, bu also permanent type
-last team standing is the winner.

.

On a similar note, Settlers of Catan, the board game (and also for PC) is slated for XBLA. Any word on this? Altho both these games are alr OL, having a uniform OL service like XBLA, not to mention their $10 price tag couldn't hurt to spread their popularity

While I like playing Worms/Pocket Tanks/etc. for fun from time to time, I have to say I'm going to have to give it the good ol' college demo before I buy it.

Alien Hominid HD, however...

At last! Now everyone can stop complaining about having to wait for Worms - And start complaining about how they ruined Worms!

Holy Hand Grenade, etc...

@Tetra
how they.. ruined Worms.. with the Holy Hand Grenade? how long have you been playing this series? Worms has ALWAYS had the Holy Hand Grenade. As for the ridiculous weapons like the Iron Donkey, and Super Banana Bomb, I have no comment.

@The Skeptics:

It's awesome because it's WORMS ARMAGEDDON. Obviously thou hast not indulged in that classic Win98 game. Who can resist blowing up worms with sheep and holy hand grenades a la The Holy Grail.

@Goldspire

Exactly. Apparently they removed the Holy Hand Grenade for XBLA. And the skunk and the select worm and the baseball bat.

I still have the original Worms running on my ancient Pentium 133 with 1gb HDD and 16meg of ram. It does not have the Holy Hand Grenade.

Worms is a great game, so much fun. Back in the day, when my Pentium 133 was cutting edge state-of-the-art technology, me and my mates would all sit around the PC passing the bong round, laughing our ar$es off as misjudged an angle and blew half our own team away.

So much fun.

The XBLA version of Worms sounds like it's going to be similar to the Nintendo DS one Worms Open Warfare, as in no worm-swapping etc.

I don't care, i'm still getting this, it will be awesome. Worms really is a lot of fun, especially with others, which is where the XBLA game will come into it's own.
