Er... is the occasional lack of content due to Microsoft being backed up with too much content to review, or is it due to developers just trying to make sure their games are finished?

It seems more like there are games that are not getting their showstoppers fixed before submission to final cert.

However, I'm of the opinion that if Telltale delivered the engine as a pay download, then you had a free episode one DLC, with additional episodes delivered as DLC using the same engine, then you could easily get on a schedule, as long as you had a few episodes completed before you shipped.

Then again, there have been those couple DLC snafus where something got screwed up when the encryption was added.

Well, they seem to be doing okay for getting their content delivered on time for PC users... so I don't see why this would be any different.

I think a "timely" release schedule is absolutely possible but I put the onus on developers making their games worthy of certifcation rather than on MS speeding up their cert process.

microsoft can only manage timely release schedules for critical security patches.. but they sure can release those at high speed! ;-)
