White Gold sniffed out for 360
17
GameTrailers has posted a trailer for White Gold: War in Paradise. The game is (get this) and open world first person shooter with RPG elements set in the Caribbean. It seems like taking open world gameplay and setting it in tropical locations is the thing to do nowadays. The video shows off some nice locales, the open nature of the game, the RPG system, and of course some combat for good measure. It's worth noting that a multiplayer mode has not yet been confirmed by the developer.
White Gold is being developed by Deep Shadows, which is also creating another 360 title by the name of Precursors. Precursors has a similar gameplay style, though it opts for a sci-fi theme instead. White Gold is expected by holiday 2007. What we've seen so far is intriguing. Does this interest anyone else out there?

Looks pretty cool. I would rather see something take place in the middle east.

Finally someone got a clue and is developing a GTA style game with FPS shooting mechanics. The RPG elements can't hurt either. Color me impressed.

Looks pretty good, although I'm more psyched for Precursors becasue of the Sci-Fi setting.
I see they're going at it Dynasty Warriors style and throwing out a couple of games that are practically the same. Apart from the setting. And the story. And the weapons. And vehicles. And, well, they use the same engine...

these guys made boiling point, which would have been great if they were competent. lots of good stuff, but TONS of bugs and just plain oddities. If it passes cert, it should be good.

If I can jump in a tank and drive through midtown, taking buildings down as I plow through for the fun of it, then I'm all over this game.
If a lamp post or hut stops my tank's progress, there's no way I'm touching it.
Easy rules to win my purchase, ain't they Deep Shadows. The video wasn't clear on if everything was destructable or if there were just a handful of "destructable object everywhere."

Hmm ... Far Cry meets Just Cause ... and the title ... does this imply some sort of drug angle a la Scarface? It gives off a smell from a distance akin to 'been there, seen that'.

I saw the shark and said "But can you RIDE the shark", and then I shut my mouth, where it again fell open in awe.
Looks neat, Precursors too, depends on how it unfolds and the story.
