Wait, so this is a sequel and not an expansion... why?
I mean, doesn't FF11 even on PS2 have expansions? What's stopping them? Not to mention they'd probably make more money out of releasing an expansion over Xbox Live for the 360 version...

New clothes and weapons won't make the game not suck.

Is there something lost in translation here? That main character portrait is of Laia, the hunter training your character in the current online quests. I'm not entirely convinced that Ambition of Illuminus isn't the serialized content already being served up in the game. Five chapters of that story have been released to players in the western version of the game already.

Huh... I might jump back into PSU for a little bit to see what changed.

Demaar: I think it's all just semantics... it more or less is an "expansion" in the same way Episode II or Episode IV in Blue Burst was to PSO. Details on how exactly your network mode character data will carry over are vague at the moment, but rest assured they will carry over.

I suggest you have a look at the scans, Kendrick. There are stills from CG from looks to be a new opening video. My guess is that Ambition of Illuminus will pick up where the online missions will eventually leave off.

SO a brand new game? This kinda sucks for many reasons.

1. New character. Means more work put in.

2. Haveing to actually BUY a new game. Prolly another 60 bucks.

3. Having to get rid of the first PSU. Trade in maybe?

Thre are more then that. but i dont see why this stuff cant be downloaded as a expansion. I think that Sega is making a mistake.

SEGA has to release this on Wii

Come on, SEGA, you owe Nintendo fanboys for keeping PSO alive from 2002-2005!

(Not like it can't be done, its a PS2 game, and as long as its on SEGA's own servers, friend codes are not needed)

You guys aren't paying attention. You should be able to carry over your PSU information for network mode. You won't have to start over. It's a "sequel" in that it will probably feature a new single player campaign and that its new areas will (probably) be separate.

Again, it's all semantics.
