There is this odd feeling inside of me that tells me to buy a PS3 but it so hard to dish out 600 bucks for only MotorStorm & Rfom. It is a cool electronic that would look nice on a shelf next to my 360 though.

I've had mine since December, and unfortunately it hasn't been turned on more than once or twice since I completed Resistance. (mostly for my son to play Lemmings...) Lack of software is obviously the main factor there, but the machine feels so... solitary after a year of Xbox Live on 360.
When all of your friends are obsessing over achievements in Crackdown or some crazy match in Gears of War or whatever, it makes it tough for the PS3 to grab any attention.
Been looking forward to Motorstorm though- and I have high hopes that Lair will be awesome.

Less, unless you count movies (netflix + blueray = love). The current PS3 content just isn't as compeling as the stuff on my 360. I check out the network and release each week, but haven't seen much on interest aside from MotorStorm (RFOM ot burned out a month ago).

I easily play it more then my wii. I only own PS3, Wii, and gamecube. I have recently purchased so many ps2 games that i've never played that it more then makes up for whatever cost i have put into the system. I'm currently playing kingdom hearts and shadow of the collosus (oh my god this game is so good looking for a last gen game). I've also recently beat Final Fantasy XII, and started VII. Wow the graphics suck on VII, but i guess that is a ps1 game so.

I also play resistance to be amazed at the graphics, but man do i suck at that game. fps controls with a controller are difficult to get used to.

Not allowed to buy one yet as I live in the UK. Not that I would if I could of course. I object to being shafted.
Going to buy a Halo 3 machine when it comes out.

After beating Resistance and playing some multiplayer. I've moved back to the 360. Multiplayer without mics is very lacking and Sony needs to start bundling a mic with each system or else their online will never be as good as Live.

Playing it about as much as my Wii I just got about a week ago.

VF5 on PS3 mostly, some Resistance (playing it through on Hard for the extra weapons).

I imported VF5, F1, and MS, but I've gotten tired of MS and F1 pretty fast.

I'm also getting tired with my Wii, but I still gotta beat Zelda TP and Elebits.

I mainly use it to play FFXII but Sony needs to put more games quick. Going to get a HDTV today and hopefully watch some Blu Ray movie while I wait. At the mean time, I need to finish FFXII, damn this game takes forever to finish, enemies are hard as hell. My brother own the 360 and he wants to barrow mine so he can play the new baseball game that just game out. Anyways, enough of my babbling, Sony will pull through just like they did with the PS1 and PS2. The Wii is going down.

Since Virtua Fighter 5 came out, I've been playing it for about 2-3 hours a night, every night. Gotta get ready for EVO 2K7 in Las Vegas, baby!

Thank goodness for the Hori Fighting stick 3, looks like the VF high grade will never make it back from the recall!

Does playing PS2 games on it count as playing the PS3? I haven't played a PS3 game since resistance back during x-mas.

I only have Resistance, but will get Motorstorm next week. I also have the 360 and Wii, but play my 360 the most by a very large margin. The Wii would come in second and the PS3 a very close third. The VC really ups my usage of the Wii.

I use my PS3 a lot more for Blu-ray movies than playing games. It was actually the biggest reason I bought a PS3 so early.

If the question asks for only PS3 gaming, then I do maybe an hour a day or so (less than I do with my 360 currently). However, I do a lot of PS2 gaming on my machine and the whole watching blu-rays on the 1080p HDTV thing is neat.

I'm looking forward to Motorstorm (I know, I'm getting off topic).

I won't be buying a PS3 until it's around $250, if I even get one. For the most part, the games I want will be available on the 360 either at the same time or shortly afterward. I wouldn't be surprised if even MGS4 is only a timed-exclusive on the PS3.

For me, the PS3 isn't really compelling enough to warrant the cash. I'd rather have another dozen games, to be honest.

How does that work? You could have purchased a pre-owned PS2 for $40 and played the same games.
How does playing them on a $600 machine instead of a $40 machine warrant the purchase?

I could understand if you thought RFOM was the best game ever and put 80 hours into it... but saying it's worth $600 because you've played a lot of PS2 games? That's like saying the BluRay player was worthwhile because you're watching lots of DVDs... could have just picked up a $40 DVD player...

PS3 is getting much love with VF5 and Resistance is still awesome online...which is how it's meant to be played. I still play Wii for Excitetruck, Wiisports and a little VC but not as much as PS3.

PSP and DS get more love than PS3 and Wii right now though.

When Armored Core 4, Oblivion and Motorstorm come coming soon, it's all PS3. Wii be damned.

I think this is another thing Sony has to overcome. Due to the low adoption rate of the PS3 consoles, I don't know ANYONE with a PS3. I wish I did, cause I'd like to play Resistance to see what it's like, VF5 cause I hear it's ridiculously gorgeous and fun, and fl0w because it looks like it got a nice revamp for the PS3 release.

The majority of the people I know own either a PS2, Xbox 360, or a Wii. Oh, and a DS.

No games to play with it. After RFoM was finished, and I found nothing else to play but ps2 games - it got dusty. The 360 always has fun games to play, and Live rox. The PS3 just isn't worth powering up. Though I did dl flow this week-and it was fun for 10 minutes.

BTW: Fanboys who will begin saying we are all hating on Sony really need to get their heads out of their asses and demand some games to play. Sony's biggest enemy is Sony right now. (And my GF who wants me to get my $600 back!)

I don't own a PS3 yet. I'm waiting for a game good enough for me to justify that price tag. I'm guessing that game will be Kingdom Hearts 3, assuming that remains a PS3 exclusive. If that's the case, it's going to be a long wait for me before I get a PS3.

And gaming is all I'd do on it anyway. I don't hardly ever watch any movies, and I've got a PC for everything else.

My friend just got one so we've been playing non-stop. Resistance on co-op is a blast, I'm liking it a lot better than the Halos. Not a huge fan of FPS, but Resistance is very charming to me (teamwork, ability to revive comrade faster, unique weapons, atmosphere, animation, sound effects, and of course, overall graphics).

I love how intuitive it is. I got into it really easily, everything feels great. Playing it alone or even deathmatch isn't that rewarding of an experience, but co-op is fantastic.

Haven't been able to connect online because of college firewall issues, but I wish that Insomniac added online co-op so that 8+ player epics were possible, replacing the NPC soldiers with real players.

The MotorStorm demo is a blast. It's been a while since I've played a racer where the racing was the fun part, not just finishing in first place. It's like the main focus is competing against the course and not the other racers.

flOw is interesting, but in my opinion it's not worth $8. I got bored after a few playthroughs and don't feel the desire to play it ever on a whim. It's more of a tech demo or something you'd see at the art gallery. If that's your thing, go for it.

Well so far, for those gamers who own a system and are fairly hardcore (ie:read a gaming news blog) the results break down as follows:
play Wii / PS3
more= 45.4%/45.2%
same= 19.1%/12.9%
less= 35.5%/41.8%

Pretty interesting... There's not much difference.

Then again even crediting the poll with some level of accuracy among the hardcore, the are countless other factors involved (like justifying your own purchase...).

Comments??

Don't own one and I don't really plan on getting one anytime soon. I don't even have enough time for my 360 and lately I have been playing Twilight Princess on my gamecube. To me RFOM and Motorstorm do not warrant a purchase for me and I can take or leave Blu-Ray as I have hundreds of dvds. I am not ready to decide on a new format till there is a clear successor to DVD. Couple all those things together and that is why I don't have one, nor have the urge to shell out almost $700 after taxes and 1 game!

I wish these polls would state some assumptions, like are you NOT playing other consoles b/c you want to but can't afford/find one or b/c it's purely your choice there. But still these kinds of polls are still fun to see them unravel

What? There's over a dozen of the 60GB PS3s sitting on my Best Buy's shelf right now. I've seen as many as 20 at Walmart, as many as 18 at GameStop, as many as 10 at Target. Shortage of the system isn't to blame - shortage of games and shortage of any reason to own one are to blame.

I have an acquiantance that has a PS3, but since we're not really friends, I have not seen it in action. I don't need one, so therefore, I play the PS3 less than other consoles (although I voted that I do not own one, much like the other 9,000 people who voted the same).

Hopefully there is a remedy to that next week with the supposed "surprise" announcement. Although I am not holding my breath, as it were...
