Robotic Xbox 360 girl fulfills our fanart fantasies
We were intrigued by the incredibly evocative Xbox 360/robot/girl hybrid fan art posted a few weeks ago on Kotaku, but without a translation of the Japanese text, we were at a loss for what was going on. Thankfully, our Gawker-owned friends have posted the above translation for added hilarity. We especially like the bit about the wireless arm that can operate from 10 meters away and the standard handgun from "the land of the FPS." Is that really how the Japanese see us -- as a bunch of gun-loving, FPS-buying thugs? Ouch. They may be right, but still ... ouch.

(sigh)
well...this pretty much sums up why the 360 won't sell in Japan (like it's older brother).

I think she's cute, but not a very fitting "age" for a 360 mascot.
She should be a mature woman instead. :P

The Japanese have girl mascots for every version of Windows (Windows Me is a bumbling idiot), most game systems (the DS is a pair of twins), and military vehicles (such as airplane-girl-hybrids who have propellers growing out of their legs).

The worst part is the fact that the fanboy (or girl) thinks that S-Video is capable of HD. (You need at least component video, HDMI/DVI, or VGA for HD).
If you're going to mock an American console, at least get it right. ;)

D terminals is their equivalent to components.

They should have included a shipping box to Microsoft so you can send her back when she breaks. Ba-zing.

It's a common thing. They've done this for all kinds of things. Wii and PS3 have also been humanised not to mention Windows 98, 2000, XP and Vista. There's an Apple-Tan too. Just google Wii-Tan she's usually reaing a really creepy D-pad based 2 piece.
You get the idea :p
