Watch some guy draw a photo realistic PSP in MS Paint
PSP, meet your biggest fan. RANDISALBION. 'Stiq Nation, watch this fellow draw a photo realistic image of the portable in MS Paint. If it were'nt for the slightly funked up Sony logo at the top right, we'd think it was real. Still, one can only imagine how many total hours are condensed into the four minute video. Impressive.
[Thanks, Seth]

Even if the PSP were worth having right now.....what a waste of time.
Cool, but...wow.
Brandon @ Mar 1st 2007 6:56PM
That sony hate train didnt take long to reach this particular stop...
required @ Mar 1st 2007 7:00PM
zhine must get golden coins from mario every time he posts his sony hate
Tyler @ Mar 1st 2007 7:03PM
Didnt think it would take long for the idiots to bash anything with Sony on it... that is @#$%ing impressive, and on MS paint that's @#$%ing incredible
Rob @ Mar 1st 2007 7:04PM
wow, those be some mad paint skillz, but i'm sure he's using a Wacom tablet.
Brandon @ Mar 1st 2007 7:05PM
He has to be using a tablet. I know very few people who can have that amount of control using a mouse.
CTBravadoman @ Mar 1st 2007 7:06PM
Who cares how he did it? It's simply amazing and a great song to boot to choose to pair with the video. But I'll ask the same question others already have. Why?
tryton @ Mar 1st 2007 7:06PM
Mad Skillz come to ming, a Great artist
Jess @ Mar 1st 2007 7:07PM
That's pretty damn good! The song is Oretes by A Perfect Circle
Jake @ Mar 1st 2007 7:14PM
Well at least we get to hear APC during the video...
The 84th @ Mar 1st 2007 7:19PM
amazing. that would be enough of a feet to be basically freehanding it in photoshop, but paint, wow.

The guy's site.

People just don't realize how good a tool MS Paint is with a little experience. If Microsoft added brushes, custom copy and past frames, animation options, and full 360 degree rotation, there would be no need for other programs.
fox @ Mar 1st 2007 7:47PM
Absolutely amazing. Chances are I can't even take a photograph that looks as good.
Eugene @ Mar 1st 2007 8:19PM
just imagine what he could do with photoshop...
BPM @ Mar 1st 2007 8:33PM
Very awesome.
Didn't care for the song, though. [shrugs]
joe @ Mar 1st 2007 8:38PM
Looks like Viral marketing to me. Even if there is an artist to attribute this to, seems like he must have been paid by Sony. Much better than the previous campaign, though.
Nino @ Mar 1st 2007 9:33PM
Man, I consider myself a pro at MSPaint (too cheap to buy real art programs), but that blows my crap out of the water.
I wish it had been a DS =P
pandafresh @ Mar 1st 2007 9:46PM
Yeah this is a real huge viral campaign ;)
To those who said "he's using a Wacom tablet" so what? it doesn't discredit the fact that this is pretty skillfully done. The tablet doesn't magically give you better skills, and in a program like MS Paint, a mouse and the tablet are pretty much equal.
SID SPACE @ Mar 1st 2007 10:25PM
Wow, this guy is amazing. Good choice of music too.

"People just don't realize how good a tool MS Paint is with a little experience. If Microsoft added brushes, custom copy and past frames, animation options, and full 360 degree rotation...."
thats photoshop.
And rather than ADD anything to MS Paint, They'd just buy it from Adobe.
Kato @ Mar 2nd 2007 12:37AM
God damn guys. I don't like the PSP either, but this nigga can PAINT.
Interstate78 @ Mar 2nd 2007 1:01AM
This is the single, greatest, artistic accomplishment I ever being done. That is ALL, raw talent. No tricks, no special photoshop stuff, just pure talent.
you know if that were a publicity it would actually be good. as in, better than most of what Sony has done recently (but that Ratchet ad where the guy is reduced in size and grabbed by an owl just kills me)
Ben Tremblay @ Mar 2nd 2007 2:02AM
hum, 'single, greatest, artistic accomplishment I ever WITNESSED being done.'
I don't know why my word disapeared. I bet I put some brackets.
GO @ Mar 2nd 2007 3:17AM
What is so impressive about this?
Its akin to being the world's best accordion stacker, ie completely useless.
Ozzpot @ Mar 2nd 2007 4:12AM
It's mighty impressive that he can do that entirely in paint. But I have to ask WHY?? It's like creating and publishing a magazine in Wordpad or something. It's great that it can be done, but imagine how much quicker (and better) he'd be if he used a proper app. I am a graphic designer / computer artist myself, and funnily enough created a PSP graphic to some acclaim. It's mega-wide because it is for displaying screenshots on forums, and was made to the dimensions specified by a particular forum. The uber-wide characteristic has kind of become a running joke.
Check out my efforts here: http://www.ozzdesign.com/files/page2_blog_entry4_1.png. Forgive any technical errors, I don't have a PSP to study!
That was done in photoshop, probably in about a tenth of the time that guy took. He's got some serious talent, but he's wasting it treading water in MS paint like it's some kind of party trick.

@GO
Hey! I resent that!
Burnt Meatloaf @ Mar 2nd 2007 5:38AM
Pff... oekaki is the only proper way to do pixel art these days.
Almost all my pixel stuff is done with the mouse, too. On the Amiga, we didn't have fancy tablets to do dithering -- or even masks.
sjenky @ Mar 2nd 2007 6:04AM
Ok, I was gonna make a dead-pixel joke.. but I'm too scared after reading these comments..
Freelancepimp @ Mar 2nd 2007 8:43AM
This guy is great! Now if he can draw some original games, better battery life, better hardware, faster load times, and a fanbase that doesn't just sit there and ooh and ahhh and drool like zombies at the pretty colors and flashing lights or simply a machine that they thinks looks sexy( but aint helping them at all with the opposiste sex)maybe it will be worth buying.

I bet that if he uses photoshop it would look like it is out of the display O.o

I nearly stood and clapped. XD
Me 2 @ Mar 3rd 2007 2:05AM
Kato......did you just say "nigga" aww man take it easy.
some person @ Mar 3rd 2007 9:39PM
I understand that could be done on a piece of paper, but on a computer? On MS Paint? I couldn't even do that in Photoshop :O
