console judgements aside, there's 10 million 360 sold vs. 1 million PS3s sold. of course there's more people playing 360 than PS3.

what's not a given is how much people continue to love playing their 360s. (and yes some of them must be working for that to happen)

@ 37 Diman,

Yeah, the fact that these folks are telling the truth blows eh? And add this "xbots heaven" site to every other gaming site out there other than those owned by Sony. People answering the poll with their gaming habits isn't ignorant fanboyism. Blindly tearing them down for liking the machine you don't support is fanboyism. So really, whose the real fanboy?

I wish the word "fanboy" would die a quick, yet violently painful death. I hate it. I hate it so much. HATE.

My X360 is just sitting there and collecting dust nowadays. I play all the crossplatform games on my PC instead-I get much higher visual quality there, and I've already played through all the few XBox exclusives I was actually interested in. The only two X360 games I am interested in this year are Mass Effect and Halo 3. And even with those, I'm just lamenting that they won't have PC ports for some time.

@ Aex

I agree with Jake.. you are probably thinking "Shooters" as opposed to "FPS". Granted a lot of games require you to carry a gun, but they are not all the same. Are DMC 4 and MGS4 considered shooters?? There are "Run and gun" "pop and shoot" "Stealth" and "Sandbox titles" all which have the player carrying a gun but do not necessarily play the same. Sandbox titles are usually filled with mini games and driving as well. Stealth is more about being unseen. And games such as COD3 and Gears of Wars are popular cause they are competitive games that you can play online with buddies. Kinda like paintball without the exercise.

In any case here are a list of titles I was working on

Oblivion
PGR3
Marvel UA
Splinter Cell DA
Superman Returns
Crackdown
Star Trek Legacy
Lego Star Wars 2
Tiger Woods 07
Fight Night Round 3
Dead Rising
Call of Duty 3
DOA 4
Raw vs Smackdown

Some of these are my roommates titles and not all of them are necessarily worth $60 (ie Superman Returns). But there is definitely enough variety there along with the achievements to keep anyone busy. Not to mention XBL Arcade titles.. I own 6.

I also revisit some classics from xbox (Halo 2, KOTOR 1 & 2, Jade Empire).

2 more heavy hitter's will be out soon (Guitar Hero 2 and Mass Effect).

More non shooter titles include:

Oblivion Expansion (Shivering Isles)
Two Worlds
Blue Dragon
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
Alan Wake
Forza Motorsport 2
Fable 2
Assassins Creed
Too Human
Overlord

Just to name a few plus AAA titles

Halo 3
Halo Wars
GTA 4
Mercenaries 2
Star Wars Unleashed
Bioshock

And I know some people could care less about achievements.. but they really do add value, gameplay, and longevity to your games.

Not arguing with you. Just answering your question.

I've got a Wii and a 360. While the Wii is fun every now and then, the 360 gets 90% of my gaming time. Crackdown is awesome!

Achievements were a brilliant addition by whoever thought of them and I think they have become more successful than anyone could have imagined. They clearly have no value, but they add a level of value that games would not have otherwise.

You used the f word, so I will consider the source. PC's are tools for making games, not playing them. Its 2007, wake up.

My all-time list based on hours played:

1. N64 - Basically 4 years of college playing MarioKart and Golden Eye
2. XBOX 360
3. PS1
4. PS2
5. NES
6. Dreamcast
7. Sega Genesis
8. XBOX
9. Sega Saturn
10. Gamecube

As of right now I have no desire to get a Wii or a PS3. That might change but I am more than happy with the 360.

"no tilt, rumble, pressure sensitivity, or triggers on a mouse"
Hah, I don't care much for rumble. Pressure sensitivity isn't that much of an advantage either.
Triggers? I have a 7-button mouse, I can live without em.
PLUS: You won't believe it, but I actually have one of my XBox gamepads connected to my PC as well for those times when I want to play PC games without having to relocate from my couch.
That reminds me, I should go fetch those Wiimote-on-PC drivers.
"Autocrawler, I see you posting quite a bit here, sometimes as pro ps3, sometimes pro pc."
Pro PC? Yes. Pro PS3? What the hell, are you joking? I really hate that thing.
"By the way, I am too busy with a social life and getting laid to constantly keep on top of patches, upgrades, and general PC headaches, simply dont have the time."
Yes, thanks for your amazing insight: people who game on PCs don't have friends. And as I am a primarily PC gamer, I automatically *must* be a lifeless loser! Right, only NOT. And please, for once, stop saying nonsense about PC upgrades and repairs. I upgrade once a year(OH NO, INTERNET SHOP ORDER, 30 MINUTES INSTALLATION, WE CAN'T AFFORD THAT MUCH TIME!!!), and guess what, for the past five years I haven't had a single hardware problem over here. I had more problems with my X360.
If repairs and upgrades are that much of a timesink to you, sorry, but it tells me something about your intelligence.

I have a Wii, 360, and PS3 so you can't say I'm a fanboy of anything but good games. I definitely play the 360 the most, because currently, it has the best lineup of games out. I was enjoying the Wii, but I think it may go down as one of the biggest gimmick systems of all time. Once the gimmick controller wears off, all you are left with are PS2 level graphics. I might sell it. And then let's not talk about the PS3, fortunately VF5 just came out, cause who knows when I would have wiped the dust off then?

Doing all these things are not rocket science, mainly just common sense, but there are things even you must admit are beyond your control, like garbage Nvidia drivers for instance, dont even get me started on the crap sli support.

Oh, that's true enough, but to be honest, I haven't ever had much trouble because of such factors. I am more of an ATI person though. :)

I like my 360 I played it when cod2 came out quite a lot but not much since then. Having said that, I play it as much as I do my wii, PS3, PC, NDSL, or PSP. Having any system to choose from makes this poll worthless for me. Not even achievements sway my console preference either way. I use my 360 for dvd's mostly, my ps3 for Blu-ray 1080P and my wii to vote on their stupid polls and check the weather but I still use my pc mainly for the net.

I own both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and besides the fact there are few games available for the PS3, playing games on the 360 is just more fun with less hassle.

Example - I'm playing Resistance on the PS3, I decide I want to invite a friend to play. I look in the Resistance in-game friends menu and see he's not playing the game. So now I don't even know if he's online. So, I have to quit the game completely, go to the PS3 dash and see if he's even online. Assuming he is online, I then have to type him a message clumsily with the PS3 controller or send him a chat invite if he's not in another game. If he's in another game, he has to quit his game, check my message or invitation and respond accordingly. There are several more steps, but you get the idea.

Now, I'm playing ANY GAME on Xbox 360, I decide I'd like to play with my friend, and I know he's online because a message popped up briefly while I was playing my game that he was online. If I hit the guide button on my controller within 10 or so seconds of seeing him pop up online, the guide will actually open right to his name, with his Gamerscore, achievments list and everything right there. If I wait because I'm the middle of a round or something, I hit the guide button, scroll to his name in my friends list and send him an invitation to join my game with ONE button press, OR I can send a private chat invite which he can answer without leaving his game if he's playing something, or I can send him a voice message (not possible with PS3) or a text message, either of which he can respond to at any time.

SOOOO much easier, less time consuming, and not at all frustrating.

Sony doesn't seem to understand how to program user-friendly software to utilize the supposed power of the PS3 hardware. They are missing HUGE opportunities to expand the PS3 user base, and seem to stumble at every turn. I really don't get it.

Still, I'm looking forward to Motorstorm next week. Now, back to Dead or Alive 4 or Gears. L8Rz.

no need for rumble, pressure sensitivity, or triggers??

how on earth would you ever gently feather the accelerator on the squealing edge of the rumble strip you can't see, hunting for that perfect apex of a turn?

ugh, you must never play racing games on your PC...

Launch day 360 here and I still play it every single day.

I also own a Wii but really only play that when I have people over to the house and we get our Wii Sports on.

But the 360 is King. Sooo many good games and such a great system.
