One of the early figures in video game music, Richard Joseph, recently died of lung cancer after a year-long battle with the disease. You may not recognize his name, but Joseph is widely credited with pioneering key innovations in video game audio, including true voice acting, the first use of interactive music, and collaborating with well-known recording artists on games. His career began on the C64 and Amiga and continued for over two decades, paving the way for modern game music as we now know it. Some of the games he worked with include Sensible Soccer '98, Sim Theme Park, Sim Coaster, Rome AD 92, and Mega Lo Mania.Interview with Richard Joseph.
