Using the same idea as the PS3 list, I'd say these 11 titles are what I would warrent purchase for my Xbox 360.

Crackdown, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, BioShock, Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Shadowrun

Again, this is my preference, yours may differ, as may your opinion on which titles will stay exclusive, either way it seems to be a good list.

Hmm, interesting o.o Ps3 and Xbox360 have the same number of exclusives I'm interested in o.o

And I would choose the 360 version of AC because:
Faster load times, (DVD is faster than blu-ray)
Better AI
Better lighting
HDR Lighting and AA at the same time.
Better physics
Better support for mainstream HD.
Better controller, Rumble.

Pretty much the same as the 360 version of Fight Night 3 being better in every way to the PS3 version (and available for half the cost).

lol. sure.

forgive me for trying to break the simple fanboy flaming with actually comparing worthwhile titles on both systems.

but i guess you prefer the typical bullshit flaming that goes back and forth as opposed to an inteligent argument.

and thanks Aex. for making a good list and not being a smart ass. i wish there was more of that

I guess we are speak ourselves.

You are one ask for it, and you are the one who make everything goes back and forth.

I just list the PS3 games for you that you asked for it, then you are not happy for some reasons.

So what the point!
If so, then I should remove some of your 360 list because I know some of games are not good.

Eh I think Joystiq got it wrong on this one. Exclusives aren't WMD in the gaming wars. They're at best smart bombs. For an exclusive to matter you need to be striking at a market that you either want to get a hold on or have an game in that genere that will make it worth staying there for that.

IE nobody cares that 360 has Bomberman Zero because it sucked, but Viva Pinata is important because its attempting to take a bite out of the Whimsy Machine that is Nintendo.

Genji doesn't count as much cause not like there are a breath of endless hack and slashy types on the other. But, if Motorstorm sells well it can be a counter to Forza or Gotham.

To put it simply, the pure size of your exclusive list, but the ability of the game to check someone elses and quality. Microsoft having a large number of exclusive shooters means they are giving people who already converted to their side have something to be happy about. If they have a large number of platformers of quality it becomes something of "You like platformers, right? We'll we've got Banjo Kazooie 3 and some others that are just as good as Mario and Ratchet. Plus We've got so many fun shooters."

@Ordeith

To say DVD is faster than blu-ray is comical. Just because you can burn a 9.4 gig DVD in less time than it takes to burn a 25 gig blu-ray disc doesn't mean you read the data off it faster. Plus, unlike 360 developers, PS3 developers can build HDD caching into the game because they KNOW that the HDD will be in the system. Load times are shorter on the PS3 as a result. Learn it. Know it. Live it.

And I'm not sure what cave you've been living in, but dual-shock isn't exactly on the xbox360 list of "exclusives" any more either. Maybe Ballmer will take the hint and keep the 360 from being the only system without motion sensing.

look. whatever. since u dont get what im saying i will break it down for you.

i knew this would be a simple flame war so i TRIED to simply dissregard the NUMBER of exclusives and look at how many are going to be worth buying and not the shear bulk of them. get it?

what you did was copy paste every single exclusive they had. which was pointless.

Aex gave a reasonable list of 11 or so of the great ones.

and dont tell me i made this flame war either. yes i contributed my fair share but you and several others didnt help.

at first i tried to look perspectively at games. it quickly turned into. "ps3 rocks 360 blows" pointless opinionated sony fanboy bullshit.

That list is a joke. "Console exclusives"? Give me a break. Following that logic, since I have a gaming PC, I can call all the PC/360 games "PC exclusive", thus getting more exclusive games than all 3 consoles combined.

It is funny when people have to give the PS3 a 1 year handicap. My how the pre-launch PS3 hype has changed gears and totally reversed, even by the fanboys. When you buy a new 360, you aren't limited to only purchasing games over a year old. This 1 year bs is just a way for Sony fanboys to seem halfway rational without admitting that their system is currently behind than the 360. You just compare it to a system 1 year in the past. I somewhat understand the logic, but it neglects the fact that the PS3 was going to launch last year, but didn't, and everyone had an extra year to prepare.

As for the future, the 360 and PS3 have some great looking games coming down the pipeline. Everyone will be set in the future. Can't wait to play great games on both systems.

Here's an idea for all you retarded fanboys. Screw the console. Get a pc so that the games you play will look better, sounds better, and most importantly play better. There's also mods and custom maps which consoles do not see. Don't get me wrong, I own all systems from Atart - PS3, 360, and Wii and PC pwns all of them. Other comment - Halo is nowhere close to "the greatest FPS ever made". This guy obviously hasn't played UT, Half-Life, Quake (games that actually did something new when they came out).

@Justice "360- 1 yr= 80 Exc titles Ps3- 5months = 39 Exc titles"

Publishers start planning games and developers start writing games long before the consoles are released to the public. Most of those PS3 exclusives were in the works before November. In terms of development time:
360 – 2 yr = 80 Exc titles
PS3 – 1 yr 5 mo = 39 Exc titles

@Baby21

I doubt you'd really buy all the games you've listed. You'd have to be a karaoke singing, CCG collecting, hardcore FPS playing, RPG fan who loves racing games. Nobody loves every genre of game. Plus, it would also cost you $1900, and even your scaled back list would be over a grand.

@vaylen "To say DVD is faster than blu-ray is comical."

The PS3 has a 2x BD player, with a transfer rate of 8.57MB/sec. That's equivalent to only a 6.5x DVD. See: http://www.emedialive.com/articles/readarticle.aspx?articleid=11404#iiia

Man, this is hilarious. You truly have two factions entering slapfights. So let me go ahead and enter this little tiff. I will first pull apart steve17's list because it's frankly hilarious to me.

The following games are not only on PC, but run better on PC and much better because of user created content.

Call of Duty 2
Prey
Quake 4
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle For Middle-earth II

Those are the ones that are released. These are the unreleased PC games once again expected to be superior to their console counterparts.

Alan Wake (seriously, steve17, you don't strike me as an adventure gamer. This inclusion seems more like "we gots one" on your list and let's hope and pray Microsoft doesn't pull funding out from underneath the game when they realize Alan Wake serves only a niche of gamers like they did to Psychonauts and Strangers Wrath)
BioShock
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
Fable 2
FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 5

And there goes the PC games from your list. Now I pick apart your others.

Banjo-Kazooie 3: Because Rare has SOOO been bringing their A game for the past 7 years, right?
Blue Dragon: For a game with so much hype, why does it look, play, and even read like every other fucking JRPG in existance? Nothing wrong with JRPGs, just not going to claim Blue Dragon as something new when the entire experience plays like "Idiots Guide to Designing a Japanese RPG." Also, you may or may not have heard but Mistwalker has been playing around with a PS3 dev kit... things that make you go Hmmmm.
Castle Wolfenstein: FPS, rare that I like them.
Dance Dance Revolution Universe: Would have been great if the arrows don't constantly get lost in the backgrounds. Trust me, I own it.
Dead or Alive Code: Cronus: Once you get a girlfriend and have some REAL sex, majority of Dead Or Alive's charm is lost. Why do you think it's the otaku's favored fanservice game?
Earth Defense Force 2017: Yet another Simple branded game in Japan. Which are, majority of the time, misses. Of course, Ambulance vs. Zombies is pure gold.
Forza Motorsport 2: Boring... seriously. Am I the only person who, regardless of how good the game looks and feels, it's still a simulator?
GTR: Racing = Teh SuK
Halo 3: If they can keep The Flood out of it, it will be an enjoyable game. But considering the most annoying enemies in an FPS EVER (beating out the previous winner, spiders) are steeped in the shitty plot, my hopes are for nothing. And yes, because of The Flood, I've yet to beat Halo 1 or 2.
Halo Wars: I don't care for Ensemble Studios games
Mass Effect: Long ago, I liked Bioware. But their games are getting a bit long in the teeth and longer in script. I'll rent it, but I have nary a hope for it. I hope they prove me wrong. I'd hate my deepest 360 game to remain Chromehounds.
Project Gotham Racing 4: Sim Racing = TeH SuK
Crackdown: It's fun. Would be much better if it actually had a point to it.
Dead or Alive 4: See DOA comment above.
Dead Rising: Once again, fun, but would be much better with a point and purpose.
Gears of War: I have to be the only one not impressed with this game enough to finish it.
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition: I actually had a blast with this game despite it's cheap damage and such.
Project Gotham Racing 3: Racing Sim = TeH SuK
Viva Piñata: I got this as a gift and honestly, I would have preferred a sweater.

Now, my list for PS3 (but I own all three so I could usually give a shit where the games go) goes from usual to eccentric but at least I promise you this. These are games I actually play, not ones chosen just to buff a list.

Warhawk
Lair
Heavenly Sword
Devil May Cry 4
MGS4
White Night Story
Ridge Racer 7
Resistance
Ratchet & Clank
Jak & Daxter
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
FFXIII
FFXIII vs
Kingdom Hearts III (confirmed as early in planning stages but will not begin production until FFXIII vs is done)
Monster Hunter 3
Shin Megami Tensei Next
Makai Kingdom
Getaway
Eye Of Judgement (provided the cost is reasonable)
Gradius 6
Motorstorm (picking it up during lunch, actually)
Monster Kingdom (Yeah, it's a gothic style monster collecting game but the designs are fricking awesome)
EyeDentify
Singstar (though it pains me to admit it)
Eight Days

And those are just the ones from the tp of my head.

Correction to above. Those are games I would actually play. Important part since most of that list has yet to be announced.

Oh, and Evan. The BluRay versus DVD arguement on loading speed is a tad ridiculous to get into. The DVD reads faster but by installing games, PS3 can load faster. For example, Gundam Crossfire. Without installing it, you have to wait until at least the fifth dialogue box in a debriefing until the game is loaded up. When installed, it's rare if it goes beyond the first. Likewise, RR7 loads like a dream when installed. This was the major factor that lead me to upgrading my HD to a 160GB. That, and it now plays the role of Music Jukebox when I'm working on other things.

"To say DVD is faster than blu-ray is comical."

Blu-Ray read speed in the PS3 is about a quarter of the DVD read speed in the 360. Not too mention trying to find the information needed if a developer fill up the 25 gb with cutscenes (Square, I'm looking at you).

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/17/ps3s-blu-ray-drive-speed-could-be-reason-for-oblivion-delay/

"Drive speed matters more to me [than capacity], and Blu-ray is slower," Howard told EGM.

Sheppy,

WOW! Way to hate on every single game made for by the 360 for really, really ignorant reasons. How can you say how Blue Dragon plays? Have you played it? But good job on not trying to pick apart any of the PS3 games. How about the fact that the only footage they ever show for Square games are from the boring-ass cutscenes, which I can't stand because their stories are so convoluted you have to be an eigth-year senior at some fancy liberal arts school to understand?

The majority of the intelligent readers on this site hate you, and the ones that agree with you have the same worthless fanboy mentality.

Hehe, limpwrsted slap matches amuse me so. Especially from people like baby sea tuna (seriously, a fist through your monitor? How fucking retarded are you?), shawn, and of course, Phil. But the other two are worthless to respond to. So here you go, Phil.

Yes, I've played the first five hours of Blue Dragon. I'm holding final judgement for when I don't need to keep a Kanji translation guide handy (and you failed to notice, despite bashing it as a typical japanese RPG, how many typical japanese rpgs are in my PS3 list... you also failed to notice I praised a couple 360 games in my post. A for effort though). And why am I still here or even refused (funny, BTW) to bash the PS3 list I presented? Primarily because people love to bitch about long posts. But keep in mind, you asked for this. And as for why I'm still here? Well, seriously. If I left, it would become one great big 360 circle jerk. Do you really want four hundred posters with nothing more to say than "PS3 sucks, Wii60 FTW?"

Warhawk: I would have preferred it to stay the way it was. A gorgeous arcade flight sim. But such things never last and now it looks like a beautiful Battlefield clone and since I can't buy any new Battlefield games without EA collecting my Credit Card info via spyware, guess I'm stuck with warhawk

Lair: Could rock, could suck. Depends upon how they balance the dragon against ground units or if they force you to land where you are severely handicapped. But as a Drakengard fan, this concept excites me. Especially with Factor 5 at the helm. But as stated before, I want to read some reviews before I buy.

Heavenly Sword: Wow, it's kinda hard to bitch about this one. I'm a huge fan of animation and that's where this game excels. But it could end up a very short but action filled adventure. It only has one bar it has to rise above, GOW, but that's one hell of a bar.

Devil May Cry 4: Could be Devil May Cry 3 or it could be Devil May Cry 2. Take that how you will.

MGS4: Likely, it will feature yet another extremely complicated plot filled with red herrings and suprises. I'd love to play an MGS game where the second playthrough isn't taken notes to find hidden links.

White Night Story: I... I got nothing. Level 5 has been nonstop good games since they started. Why should I believe White Knight Story will be the first?

Ridge Racer 7: While I hate racing sims, I am a long time fan of Ridge Racer. While it's shallow for some gamers, I don't like a title where turning has more steps than an alcoholics program.

Resistance: Ending was inconclusive and left me wanting to know what happened next. Also, I sorely missed the humor of Insomniac. One cutscene doesn't make up for a year without Ratchet.

Ratchet & Clank: I.. I got nothing. I've yet to play a Ratchet & Clank game I didn't enjoy. Why should I assume this will be the first.

Jak & Daxter: I'm a platformer lover by heart. I want to see this one succeed but I want to see this series shrug off their GTA influence.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: Tomb Raider Legends has left me eager for more of this style of gameplay. I should probably also mention I have a copy of Anniversay Edition reserved for 360.

FFXIII: Convoluted the plots may be, I enjoy them. Yes, grinding sucks as it does in every RPG (grinding was especially bad in FFXI, FFV, and FFII) but I prefer the stories from time to time. After all, if every game featured Gears Of War level plots, protagonasts would all be reduced to grunting at explosions and counting on their fingers how long it's been since the last time they said, "shit."

FFXIII vs: As a big Kingdom Hearts fan, my worry is like KHII, the game will easily be beaten by endless combos.

Kingdom Hearts III (confirmed as early in planning stages but will not begin production until FFXIII vs is done): See above.

Monster Hunter 3: I personally haven't played one yet aside from Betaing the first. Been wanting to get into it but unsure if it's my preferred style of gameplay. So I'm hopeful, just not entirely sure.

Shin Megami Tensei Next: The biggest complaint of the SMT series is the reusing of models between games. So maybe SMTN will feature new models, maybe not. And that's my worry.

Makai Kingdom: My concern here is simply that the new level cap will be 99,999.

Getaway: Enjoyed both Getaway games. Hopefully they follow the originals and not Gangs Of London.

Eye Of Judgement (provided the cost is reasonable): Could easily be a gimmick without proper balancing elements, could easily be an expensive forced collection. Both have me wary.

Gradius 6: It's a shump.... got nothing bad to say with one of the genre veterans returning.

Motorstorm (picking it up during lunch, actually): Not splitscreen sucks.

Monster Kingdom (Yeah, it's a gothic style monster collecting game but the designs are fricking awesome): Hopefully they fix the balance issues of Jewel Summoner to try and get better diversity to your team.

EyeDentify: Depending upon how balanced and accurate the voice and eyetoy recognition is, it could be very, very good. Or it could be Lifeline.

Singstar (though it pains me to admit it): HOW MUCH ARE THE SONGS?

Eight Days: Looks impressive but could have confusing controls, cheap deaths, and be incredibly short.

MGS4 is doubtful since Hideo Kojima is begging/pleading Sony to release to him a 50GB BluRay for MGS4. But it is possible. DMC perhaps has some truth to it. However, Gamestop only gets letters out to their employees when a new SKU is added and then only on rare occassion. It could, however, be a DM who's merely posting rumors (yes, even district managers can be fanboys and spread misinformation).

Because I'm bored...

"does anybody know if there's gonna be a FFVII remake for the ps3?, because if they make one, itll be definitely on my list."

Highly, highly, highly unlikely. But always possible. Here is what fueld this rumor and a similar rumor in the past.

The team that was working on FFXIII for PS2 was pulled from the project to create the tech demo of the FFVII footage. When this was done, the staff just didn't want to go back to PS2 so while FFXIII was in excessively early dev, all the assets were scrapped and remade with PS3 in mind. FFVII, as of right now, remains ONLY as a tech demo. A fact further brought home by both project leads of the FFXIII projects confirming what is next. In one case, Kingdom Hearts III and in the other, an unannounced PS3/360/PC MMO.

A similar rumor made rounds near PS2s launch after the FFVIII ballroom scene was a PS2 tech demo. This fueled fires which were hinting towards a project then known as "Final Fantasy Chronicles" (Chrono and FFIV ports were not confirmed stateside yet) which of course would be 3D remakes of FFVII-FFIX. During it's more crazy moments of the rumor, some even claimed we would see completely remade in 3D FFI-VI.

This history lesson has been brought to you by a sore mouse hand...
