Only if it's a bit-for-bit port, or they give it to Yuji Naka and his new team, Prope. All Sega's best and brightest have since moved on (see the departure of Camelot and the degeneration of the Shining Force series).

Casted my vote. Yeah... if they remake it it better not suck and I am holding a candle to the ass of the developers to make it a visually stunning experience.

The only reason NiGHTS got the vote was because Shenmue wasn't a choice. Seriously, that is the textbook defintion of unfinished business.

I voted for Streets of Rage earlier today. I'd much rather see a new Streets of Rage game than NiGHTS, personally.

And where in God's name is Alex Kidd? I mean, why have Flicky on the list and not Alex Kidd?

it better be wii exclusive, it better takes years, it better have amazing music, and it better be good. NiGHTS is possibly the greatest game of all time, i almost dont want them to cos im worried sega will fuck up another classic

#6: Why stop there? Where's Golden Axe, Space Harrier, Wonderboy...

Woah. A remake of the original Wonderboy on the DS/PSP... That would kick some ass. XD

Nights is the 2nd most over rated Sega game of all time. 2nd only to the borefest that is Shenmue.

They already did that on EyeToyOHSNAP

I mean the marginalizing the series' relevance.

But definitely it sounds like something for Wii. VIRTUA COP. :o

Reminds me of when Interplay put up the poll asking which sequel fans wanted to see made. Fallout 3 beat out all the games listed (although Freespace came close). What did we get? Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. Bleh.

Let these games die people. I'm a huge Sega fan. The Master System-Dreamcast Sega, you know the real Sega. If I thought that they could make a good game it would be ok, but look at Sonic.

A Space Harrier remake...

Why the hell wasn't that an optional vote?

I don't know whether or not Sega should really trust the people on this. I believe a similar poll resulted in Shadow the Hedgehog.

Sega has wadloads of great IP that could make the next-generation leap.

So they messed up before with Sonic. Cut them some slack. Developers are human after all. To err is human; to forgive, divine. They still have loads of interesting IP that they can resuscitate (or forever screw up).

I would love to see Space Harrier:

on Wii:
Nunchuk analog for movement, Wii remote for aiming/shooting

on PS3:
Motion for movement, analog for aiming/shooting

I think something like that would be slick...

Now that I think of it, Panzer Dragoon would be vaseline-slick with the Wii/PS3 control combo I mentioned in my previous post for Space Harrier...

I don't think NIGHTS is over-rated, it's awesome.

'A Space Harrier remake...'

Wasn't there a kind-of Space Harrier remake in 'Sega Classics Collection' on PS2? Still, didn't beat the greatness of the origional.

I've gotta agree with kevinski, I mean I am a hardcore sega nerd going back to the SMS but I still had to google flicky to remind myself what the hell it is. Meanwhile... no love for Alex Kidd? Then again, with the "love" Sega has shown Sonic over the past decade... perhaps it's better that Alex Kidd remains a happy childhood memory.

Flicky was included on the american Sonic Mega Collection. Not a bad little puzzle platformer game but nothing really note worthy.

@Tom:

Too risky - they have good IP, but their dev has sucked elephant 'nads lately (Sonic, RIP) so they may just use up all their trump cards. Sega screwed up their hardware; software is all they have left, and then they might as well not exist at all if they screw up all their IP.

Well then they should take their time, make each game one at a time, and make them all high quality.

NiGHTS on Wii? Eesh. I'd rather see those lush, bright landscapes in HD. Mmm. Of course, a Wii version would be welcome as well.

Another NiGHTs game would bury the IP. I'm this close to being completely for that.

But seriously, Sega needs to stop trying to crank out remake crap based on what fans tell them they want because fans are assuming that Sega's going to make it good and "good" isn't exactly something that Sega is capable of doing right now.

If they're just going to a straight up port/remake, then Samba da Amigo on the Wii is the smartest thing they could ever hope to do. The remote is going to way more sensitive than the original maracas, and they could pipe the sound through the speakers.

It's the logical choice? Will we see it? Nope! Makes to much sense for the fanboys and Sega, so kiss that goodbye!

@Tom:

True, true, but given their track record of late, I don't hold high hopes that they can do that.

But here's hoping Sega can revive some old IP/franchises and make them compelling games for the current generation.

I actually didn't vote for NiGHTS cause I'm with the crowd of "Sega is gonna mess it up"... There's too much at stake there. The chances of that being messed up are higher than them being successful.

1) People are already expecting too much. That's a disaster just waiting to happen.

2) Too many possible platforms with different controls. (Knowing Sega they'd pick the DS just to cop out)

3) *See the Sonic the Hedgehog incident(s)

I'd rather see another Streets of Rage(Didn't Virtual Cop 3 JUST come out like 4 years ago?) at least see Streets of Rage on a platform like PSP so there's a slim chance it could be 2d.
