Today's most recreated video: Goldeneye Live Action N64
This is by no means new stuff, and might be old to some of you, but it's so darned good that we had to share it. Some people with a lot of time on their hands recreated GoldenEye in live-action goodness, complete with the score and sound effects from the game. That garage scene is FTW!
While that whining alarm sound brought back too many nightmares, this really makes us want to drag the N64 out of storage and hook it up, just to play GoldenEye again. If Nintendo sticks this on the Virtual Console, it'll go through the roof.

I think the saddest part is the animations they lovingly mock are still used today.

Don't forget about Counter Struck, it's classic http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6515854504988720940

Everytime I see this, it makes me wish they included Bond looking at his watch for a minute while the guards just stand around

You do realize that Goldeneye has already been done in live action, yes?
Matter of fact, this wonderous live action Goldeneye predates the Rareware game you're so hung up on and is done to a much higher quality. Funny thing, that.

I never seen this before... It's "Excellent" and well acted...
Thanks for sharing...

#7 - GoldenEye N64 has been done in live action you say? Please let me know where.
Slaziman @ Mar 7th 2007 1:49AM
Lmao, the way he runs against the garage door is hilarious

I'm not the kind of guy who goes around screaming OLD NEWS, because I don't care how old it is if it hasn't been on this site before. But you guys already posted this video. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/14/video-proof-fps-characters-walk-real-funny/
Joystiq does this a lot. I'm sure I can find at least five examples of videos posted multiple times on this site. I'm sorry to be a hater, but especially with the new search engine, you guys should know your site as much as your fans do.
Kevin @ Mar 7th 2007 2:08AM
Regardless, both of those videos in the old post are now dead. So it's goodness all around for everyone who hasn't seen it.
NeverSage @ Mar 7th 2007 3:34AM
Hm, Counter Struck. For the first minute and a half I wasn't feeling it. But it gets pretty damn funny. "You take the point." "Negative." LOL
FSK405K @ Mar 7th 2007 3:47AM
I don't think I've laughed at anything harder than the first time I saw Counter-Struck. Perhaps my hundreds of hours of CS in college had something to do with that?
Kye @ Mar 7th 2007 4:56AM
They were all good, Wish the Goldeneye one had paused though, that would have been the icing on a sweet sweet cake.
I laughed hardest during Dustin's when I heard "Slayer"
Halo FTW!!!

I remember seeing this a very long time ago. Recently I tried to find it again but didn't have any luck so cheers.

Old as the hills, but it's still made from win and awesome.
Like, win and awesome hills.

Wow, that was shockingly good. They even got some of the original bad game dynamics (enemies continue to run into walls trying to get to you). Nice job to the kids who put that together!

hey Judd, it's only old news if you have seen it before. I hadn't, so it was news to me, and probably to lots of others.

That was tight work.. I'd love to see them play another game.
Vidikron @ Mar 7th 2007 10:41AM
About the Wii VC comment at the end... does anyone know who actually has rights to GE these days? The game was originally on Nintendo's N64... Rare is now owned by MS... and the James Bond license is now owned by Activision. So can Nintendo even put it on the VC? What about MS and the XBLA?
Jack of No Trades @ Mar 7th 2007 10:49AM
"GoldenEye 007 is a first-person shooter video game for the Nintendo 64, recently confirmed to also being in production for the Xbox Live Arcade. The game has been one of the most anticipated re-makes for years, only delayed by copyright problems.
The game was confirmed for the Xbox Live Arcade by developer, Rare, on March 6th, 2007 at GDC. Expect the FPS mega-hit to land on Xbox Live in mid-late July for 800 microsoft points.
F*** Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@24
Awesome! I wonder if they are going to attempt to add online play to the game?

I would love to have co-op over live for goldeneye. Based on the other live games goldeneye should have it.
Vidikron @ Mar 7th 2007 12:33PM
Wow... I'm shocked this hasn't generated more discussion. GE on Live is big news. Joystiq was pretty dead today until the Playstation Home news story... but given the response to that I know the people are here, they just aren't posting. I guess the GE on Live news needs to be its own news items to generate any discussion.
