"I want clips of when I beat a game to show people"

"I want a more detailed profile about me"

"I want people to see my trophies"

"See my house, my furniture, and my virtual stuff!"

Wait. I don't care. And most people never will. I want to play a game, see the guy I'm playing with's skill at the game. That's it.

I don't care how much you love your cat or how purple would be a great color for your friggin virtual drapes. I don't care how old you are, where you're from, or how black you think you can be. I don't want to know your name or even look at you. I. DON'T. CARE.

Pick up the controller.
Play the game.
Be cool.

I'll save the socializing for my real, not VIRTUAL, friends.

"The question I am now raising is XBL worth paying for when other consoles are now showing it could be done for free."

Oh wow, 50 dollars a year, It's really hitting hard on my wallet. >_>

All I have to say to Home: lmao. Sony really thinks peicing together bits from every popular game and concept will work. I really thought they couldn't get dumber.

While something like Home doesn't appeal to the FPS 360 demographic (at least it doesn't appeal to me)it might've interested people who are into Secondlife and the Sims (i.e. casuals). If done right, Sony could have a system seller there with Home. Or knowing Sony, it's probably just gonna be a duck.

Looks good to me . just make one for the 360 and tell sony "we do what we want with your ideas too"! Just think it will only make ms create better games for their users, when sony looks good we (360) look good!

AND YET... You're here, telling us what YOU think. 'Customizing' by letting us know your opinion. To some extent, it's the same thing in a way, you just don't like to see it on the same level Sony is going for. Did you pick a gamercard pic you liked? Cool. Then you can leave it at that and go play games. Same thing for PS3 owners, but they'll have a level of customization not yet on LIVE.

But I bet as a PS3 user, you'll also be able to just pick a name and picture, and leave it at that, like you'd rather have it.

I'd like to see microsoft implament something like this where my gamer points could be redemed for larger house, additions, picture storage, and displays for my achievements. I like the idea of creating a character, and home that represents me in the XBL community. I spend a fair amount of time on XBL w/ my friends and family b/c I go to school outside of my home state. XBL is eisier and more entertaining to chat and catch up things going on back home.

Why didn't Sony announce this "feature" earlier on?
It totally looks like a rushed response to Mii/X360, and has "ugly-ly" realistic graphics. They made their character design look like you're playing around with the Tiger Woods character creation tool.

The trophy showing off thing is so boring. The awards have "behavior", they move... AND WHO CARES? They're trying so hard to add something new to the table and they're just coming up with lame seconds and regurgitated concepts from the 360 and Wii.

Sorry. Try again, Sony.

well i would say this world is not little its infinite but looks more to rival the Second life thing and not the 360. You can't count this shit out as not being a game because you can have games played within the world making it quite interesting.

I know this is an Xbox 360 fanboy site but I have to call you guys out. If Microsoft had come up with this idea, you'd all be ranting and raving about how it's such a neat & "original" concept (because Microsoft has NEVER copied a single idea in its entire existence and is the innovator of EVERYTHING, haven't you heard?). I remember, pre-Xbox era, when everybody hated Microsoft for putting a strangle-hold on the computer & software industries; now you all act like Microsoft is your neon green path to heaven simply because you own a 360 (and apparently when you purchased your Xbox you also signed an agreement with Bill Gates to take cheap shots and hate on everything Sony does for the rest of your mortal existence).

I have a 360 because my friend bought me one for my birthday last year & I like it, yeah, but I don't pretend it's the perfect, flawless, can-do-no-wrong system that you all do; I also happen to have a PS3 & I don't have a ridiculously skewed view of it as the perfect game console either. I'm all for supporting your console of choice...but you guys are totally blinded to the fact that you're all essentially just a bunch of ever-eager, all-too-willing haters. Is it impossible to be a supporter of one console without being a petty jerk when it comes to the competition? I get that impression from most of the comments you've all posted.

I guess because I have both systems I'm more aware of how hypocritical each camp can be. I notice everyone saying how stupid the trophy system is compared to achievements...I could have sworn you bought a game to, oh I don't know...PLAY THE GAME! Regardless of trophies or achievements, that's not why you buy a game. And as for everyone saying how PS3 is trying to be too many things other than a game console...seriously guys, do you purposefully blind yourselves to the fact that our oh-so-perfect 360 is doing the EXACT SAME THING? Microsoft specifically said it wants the 360 to be the center of our home entertainment systems people! If that wasn't the case, then why isn't the 360 just a 100% bare-bones game machine? The last time I checked, you could upload and listen to music on a 360, you could watch HD DVDs on a 360, and you could upload and view pictures on it...yet you're all trashing the PS3 for something the 360 is doing as well. I can't believe I'm the only one who notices how silly and brainwashed everyone is being. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Actually, when I see how eager and willing people are to insult, mock, and laugh at others simply for having a different game console, I think to myself how that same behavior can lead to things like racism and what-not. But I'm sure someone's going to tell me how that's such a stupid line of logic that has nothing to do with video games and console loyalty.

If I am using my game console which ever it may be. My time is spent playing the games or
watching a movie. I dont have the time to run
around creating the ideal fantasy home, inviting my friends to hang out and check my new 50 inch plasma broadcasting upcoming games.
Cool concept for youngins but I think adults will stick to the games themselves.
Just my opinion....What do I know
