Why is it always Nintendo? Well not always, but there is this, the WW remake, and the Sonic and Tails in SSBM.

Of course it's the April Fool's Prank. 41 characters, 4-1, April 1st, April Fool's Day. Its a great thought tho. But just like how Sonic and Tails were "unlockable" in Super Smash Brother's Melee, this is just their annual prank.

I'm still waiting for KH2 to hit the bargain bin, but if this were true I'd pick it up on release day. :D

Admit it- the origional idea for Kingdom Hearts was absolutely absurd. A role-playing game featuring characters from Final Fantasy and Disney? Hell, that's about as asinine as combining Legos and Star Wars (wait- scratch that). But the only dumb ones were the ones who doubted it'd work - the unlikely combination actually touched a helluva lot of gamers' hearts. So now that we're used to seeing Mickey Mouse and the rest of his cartoon clowns muck it up with the FInal Fantasy crew, we thought we'd seen the last of these oddball pairings. Boy, were we wrong - publisher Square Enix is ramping up a radically new Kingdom Hearts sequal... only this game isn't set in under the sea, but rather under the pipes of the Mushroom Kingdom. We don't know much of the juicy deets right now (all Square Enix gave us was this early logo) but we were able to squeeze out some helpful intel. First off, Mushroom Kingdom Hearts is a Wii exclusive and will feature a cast of over 41 Nintendo characters. Not only that, but it will also feature Sora, Mickey, and a flock of other favorites from the first two Kingdom Hearts. And as far as the story goes, all we know is Mario will get his hands (and feet) dirty hammering down on the Heartless... oh, and apparently some princess needs saving, too."

This is definitely fake. As soon as I read it, I went to the cover to see if I all ready had the April edition and it was. I wonder how many people will actually believe it.

Seriously, EGM needs to just stop this April Fools' crap. It was never funny in the first place, and then everyone else copied it an ran it into the ground.

Listen up gaming sites and magazines, FALSE INFORMATION DOES NOT = FUNNY. Its just lame. No point to even buying an april issue of a gameing magazine, because nothing is trust worthy.

If you watn to celebrate april first on your job, pour a pile of sugar into a co-workers coffee, dont put up fake information in your product. Imagine our local news papers reported fake crimes and discoveries in april 1st editions of the news paper, people would riot everywhere.

if it was real mario wouldnt be holding the same weapon as the character in the kingdom hearts game. It would have different text and pry look nothing like that screen if it were real. Think about it. Anyways I've been reading EGM since I was a little guy and I can smell their mean april fool jokes from a mile away.

Like, this would be really cool if it were true. Only I highly doubt it because of the April Fool's thing, and thats the same official artwork from KH2. I mean, if SE were making a new game with mario, surely they'd give us new artwork? And it'd prolly be Mario style, not KH style. Still a cool thought.

My head a sploded when I saw that title in a mass of spit and teeth. Then it grew back as I realized that this was the April issue.

EGM needs to put more effort into making their jokes convincing. It's much more amusing when they convince people to attempt near-impossible feats in games.

If it was real, why would they change the name of the game? Wouldn't it just be called Kingdom Hearts 3? It was never Final Fantasy Kingdom Hearts, just Kingdom Hearts.

And those games sold well initially because of the Disney characters, but were continued good sellers because they were good and fun games.

I'd see something like this sell well too. And it fits right into Square's philosophy of only (really) developing for one console.

Anyone else remember in EGM when they had a code that supposedly let you play Simon Belmont in TMNT II for NES? I think that might have been their first April Fool's joke. Since there was no precedent for fake stuff at that point, I totally wasted 4 hours trying to enter that stupid code. Man, I feel old now just thinking about it . . .

But what if this is simply the companies involved testing our salivary glands? Putting out something like this could give them feedback as to how much people really want it. I wouldn't put it past Disney to dream up this sort of meta-polling.

can someone please show it to nintendo and square to make this a real game because the wii will sell like crazy if this comes out. My sony loving friends will want a wii even more and when shops finally get them in stock they will buy, buy, buy.

Poor EGM. Even before they can sneak up on its readers, online blogs rip it to pieces and even gets the entire article typed in by a commenter.

It's called MUSHROOM Kingdom Hearts. Meaning Mario only. And there are no way 41 Mario characters they could put in a game.

But yeah, I can't wait for this. In fact, I think I'll spend my time waiting by unlocking Sonic, Tails and Toad in Smash Bros Melee.

However, if it were true, and the April Fools Joke was making the game SEEM fake, that'd be cool.

I know the article itself is fake, but I do hope the concept happens in the future, and not just Mario, but all Nintendo characters. We saw how well Smash Bros turned out, it's the same concept. And frankly, Disney can only provide so much of their properties. It's not like every property they own can fit the franchise. Just imagine Herbie the Love Bug in it. On the other hand, who can say for sure. Regardless though, adding Nintendo's own worlds will certainly help expand the scope of the franchise. Nintendo after all holds one of the best library of characters that have been shown to somehow mesh well together much in the same way a lot of Disney properties have in Kingdom Hearts (as oppose to Sonic being in a Final Fantasy type of setting, that however just needed some work).
