There's so much discussion about Project O in this IGN preview that we don't really know how to synthesize it into a pithy blog post for you. At least we can tell you that no part of it sounds less than completely awesome. The game is being created by a supergroup of Japanese gaming: the art director is Hideo Minaba from Final Fantasy XII, the lead programmer is Youichi Kawaguchi from Dragon Quest VIII, and perhaps most interesting of all, the main designer is Yoshiro Kimura, who has showed a penchant for the bizarre with games like Chulip.
All of this talent is coming together to make a simulation game that sounds like a cross between Harvest Moon and the town-building parts of Actraiser. Really, we could have said the word "awesome" 142 times and conveyed the same kind of message.
