Nice one Epic. It's great to see them respond in public and clarify things. They were able to send a message to anyone considering violating their trademark and Emilio get's to not look like an ass and take back the nice gift he gave.

Bravo Epic. I've gotta hand it to them. It takes balls to admit a mistake like that.

I have yet to see a company that cares about their public image like Epic.

+1 to Epic.

I wonder, would we feel the same way towards Jack Thompson if he said sorry?

"Uh, yeah. I totally didn't realise they already enforced the "no selling games to underage kids" law on the box. Heh, my bad guys.

...

Guys?"

Jokes aside, yeah. Epic did good. Shows if you yell loud enough, some-one's going to hear you. Suppose we could give that horse armour rant another shot? Hey?

Meh. Suppose I shouldn't be greedy. One corporate miracle's enough for one year.

Blaine... They never tried to sue him... He honestly really didn't do anything wrong, as he wasn't selling it, but giving it away as a gift, which in American Capitalism, is totally okay.

You are starting to look a little overzealous Blaine...

I don't share Blaine's zealouslessness, but I support his sentiment.

Epic's management is quite aware of all the moves their lawyers make. We're supposed to believe that Epic's lawyers, paid by Epic's profits, behave independently of Epic, threatening people willy nilly?

Epic is backing down because we complained, plain and simple. The artist made it clear several times, all over the place, that this was a once off gift for a cousin. He did not offer to create these for other people. I'm failing to see how Epic and their lawyers "misunderstood" anything.

Rather than having a nasty stigma attached to their brand, they bowed out. While it won't affect my purchases in the future (Being political in games is so passe), I wonder what damage has been done to their brand.

Pyrrhic - I think you're overestimating the communication between Epic and their lawyers. First, the law firm in question is likely retained by more than one corporation. I'd be surprised if they're "Epic-only". Second, I don't think the lawyers are going to get on the phone for every Tom, Dick, and Harry that's infringing on Epic's copyrights. I would expect the law firm has carte blanche with a lot of things, including sending cease and desist letters. Epic management probably gets a weekly (or monthly) report of crap like that.

Had the law firm actually brought suit, I expect they would need Epic's blessing before going ahead with that.

In short, I think you're wrong.

Granted, I'm one to hold a grudge for a while, and I know that's one of my flaws. But, I just don't think an apology would be good enough for me. I'm not sure what would make the whole situation right in my head, but just a simple, "I'm sorry" wouldn't do it.

If they would have just have made the dammn action figures themselves they would not be crying now. P.S the game was just ok anyway
